Earlier this year, Poco unveiled the Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max in multiple markets. At that time, it was believed that the company may not launch the standard Poco X8 this year. However, recent certification sightings have suggested that the standard X8 is indeed in development. It appears that the X8’s launch could be close at hand as the brand has seemingly started teasing its arrival.
Poco X8 seemingly teased
The above X post reveals that Poco has started teasing a new X-series phone. While the company has not explicitly mentioned the device, it appears that the brand could be teasing the Poco X8’s arrival.
The teaser shows a smartphone in Poco’s signature Yellow color, which has been associated with several of the company’s X-series devices in the past. However, the brand is yet to confirm the name or launch details of the upcoming phone.
Poco X8 specifications: what to expect?
Recent reports have suggested that the Poco X8 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, which debuted in China last month. Therefore, it is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, it could feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and a massive 9,000mAh battery. For photography, it may feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back. It is also expected to have other features, such as HyperOS 3-based Android 16, an in-screen fingerprint sensor and an IP68/69-rated body.
As far as the Redmi Note 17 Pro’s global edition is concerned, it is being said that it will have an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens instead of a 2-megapixel camera. It may pack a smaller 8,340mAh battery. The rest of its specifications could remain the same as its Chinese version.
