Samsung August 2026 security update

The August 2026 security update is rolling out to Samsung devices, and just like last month, it’s a smartwatch getting the first bite. After the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the update expanded to the Galaxy Fold 8 series and a few more devices, and it will continue to roll out to more devices. We’ve curated a list of Galaxy devices that have received the August 2026 security patch.

According to the official security bulletin, the August 2026 security patch fixes over 58 security vulnerabilities from Google and Samsung. Of those, 38 come from Google, which includes 8 critical-level fixes and 30 high-level fixes, while the remaining 18 fixes are specific to Samsung devices.

It’s important to keep the security patch level up to date to ensure the device remains unaffected by the latest vulnerabilities. It’s therefore best to install security patches as soon as they become available for your device.

These Galaxy devices have received the August 2026 security update

  • Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 8
  • Galaxy XCover 7

The rollout has been slower than usual. Samsung usually rolls out monthly security updates at a much faster pace, but this month has been disappointing. Hopefully, it will improve in the coming days.

If your Galaxy device is on the list, the update may be ready for download. Go to Settings > Software updates and tap Download and install. Note that the update usually rolls out in batches, and so, it can take a few days to reach all the users.

We’ll update the list as and when Samsung rolls out the August 2026 security update to more Galaxy devices. You can bookmark the page or join our Telegram channel to stay updated.
