Citizen has added two new models to its UK watch lineup: the EW1277-15A and the EW1273-08A. Both watches are part of the EW127 series and are currently available for purchase on the Citizen UK website.
Design Details and Pricing
Both models share the exact same core design and specifications. They feature a small 23mm stainless steel case, making them very compact. The dial layout is identical on both versions: a plain white background with standard black Arabic numerals and a basic three-hand movement. Citizen has also included a subtle date window positioned at 3 o’clock, keeping the watch focused and highly functional.
The differences between the two watches are entirely cosmetic, limited to the case finish and the included strap. The EW1277-15A is priced at £149.00. It has a silver-tone stainless steel case and comes with a pink leather strap that fastens with a standard pin buckle. The EW1273-08A costs slightly more at £169.00. It features a gold-tone stainless steel case and is paired with a light brown leather strap.
Inside, both watches run on Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology. This system uses a solar panel hidden under the dial to convert natural and artificial light into electrical energy, which is then stored in a rechargeable cell. Because it charges continuously when exposed to ambient light, the watch does not require regular battery replacements.
The rest of the hardware is standard for watches in this price range. The dial is covered by mineral crystal, which provides basic protection but is more prone to scratching than the sapphire crystal used on higher-end watches.
Both models have a water resistance rating of 30 meters. In practical terms, this rating means the watches can withstand light splashes from washing hands or rain, but they are not built to be submerged in water and should not be worn while swimming or showering.
