Vivo is set to launch the X500 series in China on September 21st, and the countdown has come with a steady stream of certification sightings for the global versions. We’re now getting a fresh batch, with all three models turning up on Malaysia’s SIRIM database.
The base Vivo X500, carrying model number V2619, has already been certified on SIRIM, IMDA, and TUV. Joining it now are the X500 Pro Max (model V2610) and X500 Pro (model V2621).
A SIRIM listing doesn’t reveal much about the phones themselves. It’s mainly a regulatory requirement for electronics sold in Malaysia, so the latest filings mostly confirm the model numbers and show that Vivo is preparing the X500 series for the Malaysian market.
Vivo X500 series rundown
Vivo confirmed the X500 series launch date at its Creator Festival event in Yantai, where it also shared some details about the phones’ cameras. The X500 Pro models will be the first to use Vivo’s new BluePrint LightGuard 900 sensor, which is reportedly based on the Sony LYT-910. Vivo says the sensor can deliver up to 17EV of dynamic range.
The Pro models will also support 4K video recording at 240fps for slow-motion footage, along with 4K 120fps HDR video and 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding.
Vivo has also shown what the phones will look like. An official image of the X500 Pro Max shows a large circular camera module on the back, with the rear panel gently sloping around it. The Pro Max comes in black and orange, while official images of the full lineup reveal additional color options for all three models.
The lineup is also expected to use a 64MP Sony LYT-610 sensor for the telephoto camera. Vivo is reportedly pairing it with CIPA 5.5-rated stabilization and support for a 200mm teleconverter accessory.
As for when you’ll be able to buy one outside China, there’s no word on that yet. Certification runs like this one usually show up weeks before an official global announcement, so expect the pace of these filings to pick up as September 21st gets closer.
