Oppo is rolling out new photo management features with the latest ColorOS 16 update. The changes are focused on making it easier to organize, browse, and manage photos directly from the Photos app. The update also adds improvements for text extraction, album privacy, and file selection.
ColorOS 16 adds new photo management tools
One of the most useful additions is the ability to change the date and time associated with a photo. Users can correct inaccurate timestamps or reorganize older memories by adjusting the capture time directly from the Photos app.
The update also lets users hide customized albums from the main Photos view, offering an additional way to keep certain collections out of sight. Meanwhile, the new Batch Favourites option allows multiple photos to be added to Favorites at once, reducing the number of taps needed when organizing a large library.
Oppo is also adding a Scan Text feature that can extract text from photos for copying, editing, or sharing. When working with documents, the tool can additionally rotate and straighten images and remove glare or shadows to create cleaner digital copies.
Photos and Albums now offer Immersive and By Date viewing modes, giving users more flexibility when browsing their libraries. The September ColorOS 16 update also includes improvements to Private Safe and photo selection, with better file organization across different formats and measures aimed at reducing accidental selections.
Oppo says the new features are part of its ongoing ColorOS 16 improvements, although availability may vary depending on the device and region. The update builds on the existing photo management experience by adding more control over how memories are organized, displayed, and accessed.
