When Apple launched the iPhone Air in September 2025, it became the thinnest iPhone the company had made. It also drew two complaints almost right away: the battery didn’t last as long as on the other models, and a single rear camera felt thin on a phone priced above the standard iPhone.

A fresh leak now suggests the company might address those issues in the iPhone Air 2. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the next-iteration phone has two cameras and a battery larger than its predecessor.

iPhone Air 2 Specifications (Rumored)

The iPhone Air 2 is said to have a 6.55-inch flat OLED with 1.5K+ resolution and a 120Hz LTPO panel. The new leak corroborates a previous one, which tipped a similar screen size.

Inside, the phone is expected to use an A20-series chip built on a 2nm process. The battery is tipped at 3,500mAh, up from 3,149mAh in the first iPhone Air. That’s about 11% more capacity, and it would be welcome news for anyone who found the original’s battery life lacking, though the real-world gain will depend on how Apple tunes the phone.

Also, the rear setup will now have dual cameras of a 48MP main sensor and a new ultra-wide lens. This makes the camera count on par with the standard iPhone. And as usual, you can expect Face ID for unlocking.

What to expect on timing

According to reports, the iPhone Air 2 could launch in spring 2027, alongside the standard iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e. The same report suggests the iPhone Air 2 could be the only ultra-thin flagship phone released in 2027.

Pricing hasn’t surfaced, but with a bigger battery and an extra camera on the list, expect a higher price than the current iPhone Air.
