Timex has released a new holiday-themed version of its Weekender watch in the US. The Peanuts x Timex Weekender Charlie Brown Christmas edition is available now on the company’s website for $99.
It is a straightforward update to the standard Weekender, swapping the usual plain dial for one featuring the classic Charles M. Schulz characters.
Design Details
The dial itself is white with full blue Arabic numerals marking the hours. At the bottom center, there is a small graphic of Charlie Brown and Snoopy standing next to a decorated Christmas tree.
The hour and minute hands are standard, but Timex added a red second hand to break up the mostly blue and white color scheme.
Aside from the holiday dial, this is the exact same 38mm Weekender the company has sold for years. The case is made of polished silver-tone low-lead brass and measures 8.5mm thick with a 46mm lug-to-lug distance. It weighs just over 49 grams.
Inside, it uses a standard quartz analog movement powered by an SR626SW battery. The glass covering the dial is a basic mineral crystal, which is typical for watches in this price range and provides standard scratch resistance for daily use.
The watch comes with a 20mm blue fabric slip-through strap. Because of the slip-through design, you can pull the strap out and replace it with any other 20mm single-pass band without needing a spring bar tool. Timex says that the included strap fits wrists between 5.6 and 8.1 inches.
Water resistance is minimal, rated at 30 meters. In practical terms, this means the watch will survive washing your hands or getting caught in light rain, but it is not sealed for showering, swimming, or diving.
In related news, Timex has recently launched a Peanuts Weekender watch featuring Snoopy in a winter coat and an Indiglo backlight surprise, alongside two Peanuts Snoopy Ski T80 digital watches with winter-themed artwork.
