The display features an OLED panel with a 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution (WUXGA) and a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing extra vertical screen space for reading documents, browsing websites, and office work. It also offers a 100,000:1 static contrast ratio, with self-emissive pixels that can turn off completely to produce deeper blacks and better contrast than conventional backlit LCD panels.

For color, the 8-bit panel covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has an average Delta E of less than 2 under the sRGB standard. The brightness is rated at a typical 300 nits. That is a standard brightness level for indoor office work, though it might be difficult to see clearly if you are working outside or in direct sunlight.

The monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 1ms gray-to-gray response time. AOC includes a few gaming settings in the software, like an on-screen crosshair and specific picture modes for different game genres. However, because it is capped at 60Hz, it is built more for casual console gaming or watching videos rather than competitive PC gaming.

On the outside, the 16T40D has a silver-grey aluminum alloy body. It weighs 510 grams (about 1.1 pounds) and is 8mm thick, so it is relatively easy to pack in a bag alongside a laptop. It includes a magnetic protective cover that folds into a stand, which is how most portable monitors handle screen protection and positioning. The monitor also supports vertical orientation if you prefer a portrait setup.

For ports, the monitor has two full-featured USB-C connections. If you have a compatible laptop, tablet, or phone, you can use a single USB-C cable for both power and video. There is also a Micro HDMI 1.4 port for devices that do not support USB-C video, an audio output jack, and basic built-in stereo speakers.

The monitor also uses DC dimming to prevent screen flickering and has four low blue-light modes for reading and office work to help reduce eye strain during long sessions.

In related news, Lenovo has recently launched an affordable 280Hz 1080p gaming monitor for just $90, while Dell has launched a new 32-inch 4K monitor with a 120Hz IPS Black display and 140W charging.
