Xiaomi today officially announced a change in the name of the MIJIA brand to Xiaomi Smart Life. The post announcing the change clarified that it is only a name change. 
The MIJIA brand is Xiaomi’s smart home brand. The term “MIJIA” literally means Xiaomi Smart Home in Chinese. It was established in 2016 and encompasses all the major smart home products released by Xiaomi under the brand. The MIJIA Rice Cooker was the first product released under the brand name.
The logo hasn’t changed, retaining the simplistic shield logo. The shield portrays the image of a reliable brand which is what Xiaomi is projecting.
Xiaomi’s operation director is reported to have responded in the comment section that products will still use the MIJIA logo for new products launched under the Xiaomi Smart Life brand. The products cut across the Xiaomi and Redmi brands.
