We first heard about the vivo Y21A back in September 2021. However, the smartphone has gone official only now. According to Playfuldroid, It has been quietly listed on the company’s official website in India without any info on price and availability.
Vivo Y21A Specifications and Features
The Vivo Y21A is the successor of Vivo Y20A. The device features a plastic body, a dewdrop notched display, and a rectangular camera island. It measures 164.26 × 76.08 × 8.00mm in dimensions, weighs 182g, and arrives in two colors (Midnight Blue, Diamond Glow).
The handset sports a 6.51-inch display (LCD) with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (HD+), 20:9 aspect ratio, and 89% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset paired with 4G RAM (+1GB virtual RAM) and 64GB storage with support for expansion via a MicroSD card slot.
It houses a dual-camera setup on the rear comprising of a 13MP primary snapper and a 2MP macro shooter. On the front, it has an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone runs Funtouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11. It includes all the required sensors like a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, and ambient light sensor. There’s also a virtual gyroscope.
The phone offers connectivity options such as 4G (dual-SIM), dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, GALILEO), USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Last but not least, the Vivo Y21A draws energy from a 5,000mAh battery, which is capable of charging at 18W.
