A lot of Chinese brands tie in with Anime franchises to launch limited-edition smartphones. Earlier this year, Realme introduced a special Naruto-inspired version of the GT Neo 3 in China. Now, it is reported that Honor is developing a limited-edition Honor 80 Pro based on the recently released anime Three-Body Problem. Here are the details.

For those unaware, Three-Body Problem is an animated show based on an award-winning science fiction novel of the same name. It is written by Cixin Liu and is part of his sci-fi series, Remembrance of Earth’s Past. The novel has been adapted into an anime series by the Chinese online video and anime platform Bilibili, and the first episode premiered on December 3.

Honor 80 Pro three-body problem edition

Honor 80 Pro Three-Body Problem is not official yet. However, a leaked image has surfaced online, which shows the smartphone with a three-body logo on the rear. The handset is pictured in black and the rest of its design is the same as the standard model. Whether the leaked image is real or not is open to question. It could very well be a fan-made concept.

If the handset is actually in the works, we can expect it to debut with customized accessories, packaging, and user interface. More details about the special edition smartphone should emerge soon. We’ll keep you posted.

To recall, the Honor 80 Pro comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It features a 1.5K resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate as well as a PWM frequency of 1920MHz. It arrives with a large 4,800mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging and runs on the latest Android 13 OS-based MagicOS 7.0 out of the box.
