Design, Display, and Build

One of the biggest advantages of the Nintendo Switch 2 is its hybrid design. It offers greater versatility with its three modes: handheld, tabletop, and TV. The removable JoyCons allows for a fun and engaging multiplayer experience as well. It sports a 7.9-inch LCD display with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Docking enables faster performance for the console, although handheld gaming is still possible thanks to its 5,220mAh battery pack. Nintendo is known for its massively popular exclusive franchises. From Mario to The Legend of Zelda, there’s plenty of experiences that you just can’t find anywhere else.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to release on 5th June 2025 for 449.99 US Dollars. Meanwhile, the ROG Ally is available in different configurations that can go for anywhere between 600 to 700 US Dollars. But unlike the Switch 2, it is already available in the market, including the upgraded Ally X variant.

So choosing between the Nintendo Switch 2 and the ASUS ROG Ally depends largely on your gaming preferences. If you’re drawn to Nintendo’s exclusive titles and the flexibility of a hybrid console, the Switch 2 is an appealing choice. However, the ROG Ally has a vast PC library and brings Windows 11 functionality as well.
