MSI’s MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 gaming monitor is now available at retailers, with Best Buy listing it for $749.99. First introduced in May 2025, it is MSI’s first 27-inch 2K esports monitor using Samsung Display’s 3rd-generation QD-OLED panel.

The monitor offers a 500Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time, paired with ultra-low input lag for accurate performance in competitive games. The QD-OLED panel improves brightness and contrast, with deep blacks that make in-game details easier to see. It is certified with VESA ClearMR 21000 for motion clarity and DisplayHDR True Black 500 for high dynamic range quality.

MSI has upgraded its OLED Care features to extend panel life. The latest firmware allows the Panel Protect refresh interval to run up to 24 hours before a refresh is required. For users who prefer more frequent maintenance, there is also an Auto mode that prompts a refresh every 4 hours. This change lets players use the monitor longer without interruption while still protecting the panel.

The MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 also includes multiple HDR modes. Options include True Black 400, True Black 500, Peak 1000 nits, and the newly added EOTF Boost. EOTF Boost increases brightness compared to Peak 1000 under the same average picture level conditions, giving players a brighter image when needed. This feature was added in response to feedback from users who wanted more control over brightness levels during HDR use.
