The MatePad Mini carries the tagline “Small tablet, big phone, light and portable as promised” (machine-translated). The teaser reveals that it features a dual rear camera setup with a camera deco design consistent with the MatePad Pro series, keeping in line with the Mate family’s design language.

From the side view, the device looks slim and lightweight, with only a minimal camera bump, making it more convenient for daily use. The front bezels are also well controlled, resulting in a higher screen-to-body ratio and delivering a strong sense of visual immersion when the display is lit up.

On the software side, the MatePad Mini will support Huawei Notes and the Born to Draw app, offering users a smooth writing and drawing experience when paired with a stylus. A network indicator in the top-right corner confirms support for a SIM card slot. Since no “4G” label is shown, it likely points to 5A-level speeds, ensuring reliable connectivity. The tablet also supports NearLink (XingLian) technology, which enables faster connections with lower latency.

Huawei MatePad Mini specifications (rumored)

According to reports, the MatePad Mini will arrive with an 8.8-inch OLED panel that offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will feature the Kirin 9020 chipset and a 6,500mAh battery with 66W fast charging. It will measure 5mm in thickness and weigh around 260 grams. It will be available in shades like Snow White, Obsidian Black, and Spruce Green.
