Viltrox has launched its new AF 56mm F1.2 Pro lenses for Sony E-mount and Fujifilm X-mount APS-C camera systems. The new portrait-focused primes feature a large F1.2 aperture and a pro-grade optical design aimed at photographers and videographers who want high resolution and shallow depth of field in a compact form factor.

Viltrox AF 56mm F1.2 Pro Specifications
The lenses use a 13-element, 8-group construction that includes one aspherical element (UA), one ED element, and three high-refractive elements to reduce chromatic aberration and improve edge-to-edge sharpness. Viltrox applies its HD nano coating to suppress glare and maintain clarity in high-contrast environments.
The 56mm focal length delivers an 85mm full-frame equivalent field of view, which is considered ideal for portrait photography. The F1.2 aperture allows for a shallow depth of field and strong subject-background separation. Viltrox says the lens maintains consistent image quality across the frame, even at wide open aperture.

Viltrox equips both versions of the lens with its patented Dual HyperVCM autofocus motor. The system supports fast, accurate, and nearly silent focusing. The autofocus design also minimizes focus breathing, which helps maintain stable framing in video recordings.
The lens body is made of forged aluminum alloy and is fully weather-sealed. It includes protective coatings to resist scratches, smudges, and moisture. The E-mount version features a dedicated function button, an AF/MF switch, and a de-click switch for aperture adjustment. Both versions include a USB-C port for firmware upgrades.
Pricing and Availability
The lenses support a minimum focusing distance of 0.5 meters and use a standard 67mm filter thread. Viltrox lists the MSRP at $580 in the US, €599 in Europe, and £530 in the UK.
