Lenovo has updated its ThinkPad P series mobile workstations at IFA 2025, introducing new models focused on AI power, enhanced graphics, and improved portability. These machines are designed for professionals in engineering, data science, and creative fields.
ThinkPad P16 Gen 3


The ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 is the most powerful model in the series. It is equipped with Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors with up to 24 cores and includes an integrated NPU for AI acceleration. Graphics configurations go up to NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell GPUs with 24GB GDDR7 VRAM. Memory scales to 128GB DDR5 5600MT/s ECC or 192GB DDR5 5600MT/s non-ECC, and storage supports up to 12TB M.2 PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSDs with three 4TB drives.
The 16-inch screen comes in FHD+, UHD+, 3.2K, and OLED options. It carries a 99.9Whr replaceable battery and weighs 2.54kg. The design uses recycled aluminum, magnesium, and plastics, and the system is EPEAT Gold and ENERGY STAR certified.
ThinkPad P1 Gen 8
The ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 is built for mobility while maintaining strong performance. It runs on Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors with up to 16 cores and AI-ready NPUs. Graphics support includes up to NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell GPUs. Memory is capped at 64GB LPDDR5x 7467MT/s, with storage up to 8TB PCIe Gen5 SSDs and two 4TB drives.


It features a 16-inch display with the same resolution and OLED options as the P16 Gen 3. It weighs 1.84kg and comes with a 90Whr replaceable battery. Materials include 90 percent recycled magnesium aluminum and 75 percent recycled aluminum.
ThinkPad P16v Gen 3
The ThinkPad P16v Gen 3 balances price and performance. It uses Intel Core Ultra 200H processors with up to 16 cores, up to 64GB DDR5 5600MT/s or 96GB DDR5 6400MT/s memory, and NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell GPUs. Storage supports up to 4TB PCIe Gen5 SSDs with two drives.


The 16-inch display includes FHD+, UHD+, OLED, and 3K choices with slimmer bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio. The P16v weighs 2.1kg and comes with either a 50Wh or 86Wh battery. Its build uses 75 percent recycled aluminum and 30 percent post-consumer recycled plastics.
ThinkPad P16s i Gen 4 and P14s i Gen 6
The ThinkPad P16s i Gen 4 and P14s i Gen 6 are Lenovo’s thinnest and lightest workstations. Both run on Intel Core Ultra 200H processors with up to 16 cores. The P16s supports up to 96GB DDR5 6400MT/s, while the P14s supports up to 96GB DDR5. Graphics options include NVIDIA RTX PRO 1000 Blackwell GPUs or integrated Intel graphics.


Display choices include WQUXGA, 3K, WQXGA, and FHD+ IPS with anti-glare, low blue light, Dolby Vision, and TÜV certifications. The P16s weighs 1.82kg with a 75Whr battery, while the P14s starts at 1.6kg with the same battery capacity. Both models use up to 90 percent recycled materials, including 50 percent recycled aluminum, and FSC-certified packaging.
Shared Features Across the Lineup
All models in the series run Windows 11 Pro, with support for Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Fedora. Security includes Intel vPro, ThinkShield, dTPM 2.0, fingerprint readers, webcam privacy shutters, human presence detection, and Kensington locks. Connectivity features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a range of ports that include Thunderbolt, HDMI, RJ-45, SD Express, and smart card readers. Audio systems use Dolby Atmos or Dolby Audio speakers with dual microphones.
Availability and Pricing
The ThinkPad P16v Gen 3, P16s i Gen 4, and P14s i Gen 6 will be available in September, priced at 1,939€, 1,599€, and 1,569€. The ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 and P1 Gen 8 will launch in October, starting at 2,899€ and 2,959€.
Alongside the new workstation laptops, the brand has also refreshed its gaming lineup with launches including three Legion Pro OLED gaming monitors, the Legion Pro 7 laptop and the Legion Go 2 handheld gaming console.
