Red Magic officially announced that its latest flagship tablet, the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro in China, will launch internationally as the Red Magic Astra 2. While we don’t have the full global release schedule yet, it’s set to debut in China on June 30, with international availability expected soon after.

The tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Red Magic claims it can deliver “full frame rates” in over 100 major games.
One of the biggest highlights is the beautiful 9.06-inch BOE X10 OLED display. It offers a 185Hz refresh rate, 2.4K resolution, and 1600 nits of peak brightness for excellent visuals. A Synaptics S3930 touch chip helps with precise, responsive controls. For stable performance during long gaming sessions, it has an advanced cooling system that includes liquid cooling and a piezoelectric micro-pump. The liquid cooling loop is also enhanced with RGB lighting effects.
Other useful features include dual USB-C ports with 80W fast charging, reverse charging, and the ability to charge while using headphones. There’s also a new Steam direct connection mode for easier PC emulator integration, making it more versatile for gamers who switch between devices.
The Astra 2 looks ready to compete directly with tablets like Lenovo’s Legion series. It combines raw gaming power, innovative cooling, and some AI features, while still aiming to be practical for everyday use.
Overall, leaks and teasers around the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro show Red Magic is serious about carving out a bigger space in the premium Android tablet world. We still don’t have official pricing or complete global specs, but expectations are high.
The China launch on June 30 should give us a much clearer picture, and hopefully more details on when the rest of the world can get their hands on the Red Magic Astra 2.
