Red Magic has dropped some impressive early performance numbers, showing its upcoming Gaming Tablet 5 Pro can deliver console-like frame rates even in demanding games.

The tablet is set to launch in China on June 30, 2026, with global availability expected shortly after. According to Red Magic’s own testing, it performs really well under pressure:

  • In CrossFire, it averaged 184 FPS (with 1% lows at 168 FPS) on HD settings with high refresh rate.
  • Delta Force hit an average of 165 FPS (1% lows around 157 FPS).
  • Even in a large open-world game, it reportedly maintained a steady 60 FPS average.

These are manufacturer numbers, so we’ll need independent tests to fully confirm them, but they’re promising for a portable tablet.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with Red Magic’s own Core R4 co-processor for better gaming optimization and efficiency. To keep things cool during long sessions, it uses an advanced liquid cooling system combined with an active fan.

The display is a big highlight too: a 9.06-inch OLED panel with up to 185Hz refresh rate, 2.4K resolution, and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It builds on the previous Red Magic Astra model by offering strong PC game emulation support, including Steam compatibility and a desktop mode, so you can pair it with controllers and play a much wider library of games. Other nice touches include a transparent design that highlights the liquid cooling system.

Overall, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro feels like a niche but exciting option for gamers who want a high-refresh-rate display on the go. With its strong focus on cooling, display quality, and raw power, it could stand out as a portable yet seriously capable gaming device. If you’re into mobile gaming, this one is definitely worth watching.
