Frequently asked questions
How long do Android brands support their phones?
It depends heavily on the tier. Samsung leads: recent Galaxy S flagships get seven years of OS updates, and even mid-range A-series phones typically get four. Among Chinese brands, flagships from OnePlus, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor generally receive four to five major Android versions, while mid-range models get two to three and budget phones often just one or two. Tecno and Infinix usually commit to one or two major updates outside their flagship lines. The safest rule: check the eligibility list for your exact model rather than trusting the brand’s headline promise, because regional variants sometimes differ.
How do I check if my phone will get the next update?
Use the table at the top of this page. Find your brand, open its eligible devices list, and search for your exact model. We update those lists as brands expand or trim their rollout plans, so the list is always the current state, if your phone was added or dropped since the version was announced, the list reflects it. If your phone isn’t on any list, it has most likely reached the end of its update support.
When is Android 17 coming to each brand?
Google’s Pixels received stable Android 17 in June 2026. Samsung’s One UI 9.0 is in beta now, with the stable release expected once testing wraps on the Galaxy S26 series and older flagships. Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 is expected to begin rolling out in the coming weeks, with eligible devices already confirmed. OPPO (ColorOS 17), Vivo (OriginOS 7), Realme ( Realme UI 8.0) and Nothing (Nothing OS 5.0) have all published their device lists, with staged rollouts through second half of 2026. Tecno has not yet announced its Android 17 plans.
