BigMe has announced the pre-order schedule for its latest color e-reader, the BigMe B6 Pro. Pre-orders will open at 8:00 PM on September 1 and remain open until 10:00 AM on September 22. Buyers can then pay the remaining balance from 10:30 AM on the same day. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs 2,099 yuan.
The B6 Pro features a 6-inch color E Ink display with a resolution of 300 PPI for black-and-white content and 150 PPI for color. The screen supports up to a 75Hz refresh rate and features 36 levels of adjustable warm and cool front lighting for reading in various lighting conditions.
BigMe B6 Pro packs a Dimensity chip
Inside, the B6 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, an octa-core processor with up to 2.6 GHz speeds. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. BigMe previously used the same chip in its original HiBreak Dual phone before switching to the newer Dimensity 8300 in later models.
One of the biggest features here is built-in 4G connectivity. The B6 Pro supports a SIM card, allowing users to make calls, send messages, and access the internet without a Wi-Fi connection. It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3.
Despite the added connectivity hardware, the reader remains fairly compact. It measures 108 x 149.3 x 6.98mm and weighs around 176 grams. BigMe will offer it in black and white, while the software is based on Android 14.
The device also supports stylus input and has five physical touch buttons. A 2,120mAh battery powers the reader, with charging handled through a USB Type-C port. The same port can also be used for wired earphones. Other hardware includes dual microphones and a single speaker for calls and media playback.
The B6 Pro is part of BigMe’s growing push into E Ink devices this year. While the recent HiBreak Dual 3 focuses on the smartphone side of the company’s lineup, the B6 Pro is aimed more directly at readers who want a color E Ink device with 4G connectivity.
