Vivo set a launch date for the Vivo V80 earlier this week. Before the company gets a chance to do a full reveal, tipster Abhishek Yadav has shared the phone’s Indian pricing.
The Vivo V80 reportedly starts at Rs 63,000 for the 8GB + 128GB model. The 8GB + 256GB version is listed at Rs 70,000, and the 8GB + 512GB model at Rs 80,000.
If the tip holds, you’re paying a lot more than last time. The Vivo V70 launched in India at Rs 45,999 for 8GB + 256GB, so the same storage tier on the Vivo V80 would cost about Rs 24,000 more. It also lands well above the Vivo V70 Elite, which started at Rs 51,999. The tip doesn’t say whether these are launch prices or MRP before bank offers, so what you pay could be lower, but a price hike seems inevitable.
Vivo V80 specifications
For the price, Vivo V80 will come with a 6.59-inch flat LTPS OLED with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Vivo’s own teasers confirm 5,000 nits of local peak brightness.
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip with UFS 4.1 storage. On the back, you get a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom and OIS. The front has a 50MP selfie camera. Vivo is also expected to bring 10X portrait zoom and 4K cinematic video to the V series with this phone.
The Vivo V80 has a 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging. Vivo says it’s the largest battery it has fitted to a V-series phone. The phone ships with Android 17, which means OriginOS 7 in India.
The rest of the list covers what you’d expect at this price. You get IP68 and IP69 ratings with a metal frame, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and an IR sensor. The phone has a USB 2.0 port, so wired file transfers will stay slow.
