Caviar, the company that modifies consumer electronics with high-end materials, has announced a new customization option for the foldable iPhone Duo.
The new lineup, called the Zodiac collection, relies on an online configurator that allows buyers to select specific materials and finishes for their device based on the 12 astrological signs.
Design Details and Pricing
Rather than selling a fixed set of modified phones, Caviar is focusing on user selection. The online configurator starts by asking the customer to pick a zodiac sign, which loads a default base design. From there, users can alter the materials for several parts of the phone’s exterior, including the frame, the back plate, the zodiac circle, and the central medallion.
The material options cover a wide range of standard luxury modifications. For the frame, buyers can choose between silver, gold plating, and titanium with a black PVD coating. The back plates can be fitted with forged carbon or various leathers, such as calfskin, python, and crocodile, available in several colors.
The decorative elements, which include the zodiac constellation and background panels, can be customized with Swarovski crystals, jewelry enamel, or meteorite inlays. Caviar also offers textured metal finishes like clous de Paris and chevron patterns.
Because the materials vary significantly, the pricing fluctuates based on the user’s selections. Looking at the default configurations, the starting prices sit well above standard retail hardware. The base Capricorn model, which uses a black titanium frame and a forged carbon back plate, is estimated at $14,800.
The Aquarius model, which swaps the titanium and carbon for silver and navy crocodile leather, pushes the estimated price to $18,615. All base models listed in the configurator include 256GB of internal storage.
The purchasing process differs from standard e-commerce. Once a user completes their design in the configurator, the website generates a specific alphanumeric code.
To actually buy the phone, the customer must send this code to a Caviar sales manager. The manager then confirms the final price based on the selected materials and initiates the custom order.
In related news, Caviar has recently launched a $90,000 iPhone Duo collection featuring 18K gold, platinum, and diamonds, alongside ultra-luxury Black Edition iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo models without cameras.
