iQOO 16s incoming! Could peck Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 and 10,000mAh battery

The iQOO 16 family for the global market is gradually growing. There are rumours that the iQOO 16 will be announced in India by next month. At the same time, the brand is said to be working on the iQOO 16R, which will be positioned below the more powerful iQOO 16. Now, a new report reveals the existence of the iQOO 16s.

iQOO 16s is a new but familiar phone

According to a report by AndroidTreasure, an upcoming iQOO phone with the model number I2606 has appeared in the Malaysian SIRIM certification database. The listing confirms that it will be called the iQOO 16s when it arrives in the Malaysian market.

Although it appears to be a new phone, the I2606 has already been spotted on multiple platforms, including the TKDN and EEC certification databases, as well as the IMEI database. The latter revealed that it will carry the iQOO 16R marketing name. Hence, it appears that the I2606 will carry different names depending on the market.

iQOO 16s key specifications

The iQOO 16s SIRIM listing does not reveal any information about its specifications. However, it is likely to carry the same specifications expected on the iQOO 16R, which itself is expected to be a rebranded version of the upcoming China-bound iQOO Z12 Turbo.

Therefore, the iQOO 16s is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate. Under the hood, it could feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 chipset and a massive 10,000mAh battery.

For photography, it is likely to feature a 32-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel dual-camera setup, similar to the previous generation.
