On Nov. 9, Oppo will announce the launch date of its Reno 17 series for China. Ahead of the announcement, the company has released a teaser video offering an early look at the phones, although their complete designs remain concealed. According to reports, the upcoming lineup will comprise two models, the Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro.
Oppo Reno 17 series design officially teased

The teaser reveals a familiar design language, with the camera module retaining a layout similar to the previous generation. Rather than introducing a complete visual overhaul, Oppo appears to be focusing on smaller refinements. However, one particular detail stands out: a cat-like glowing effect on the rear panel that creates an illuminated appearance under blue lighting. This could be associated with the rumored Encounter Cat Edition, which is expected to be one of the more distinctive finishes in the lineup.
The Reno 17 series is expected to arrive in multiple colour options, including Snow White, Ice Moon White, Cocoa Brown, Starlight Pink and Encounter Cat. These finishes could give buyers more variety, particularly if the illuminated rear treatment is exclusive to the special edition. The previous Reno 16 series also offered distinct colour choices across its models.
Oppo Reno 17 series specifications and launch expectations
According to leaked specifications, the standard Reno 17 could feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and an 8,000mAh battery. The Reno 17 Pro is tipped to feature a smaller 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED panel, a Dimensity 8550 Super processor and a 7,200mAh battery. Memory configurations are expected to include 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB.
Camera hardware could be another major attraction, with both phones tipped to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. They are also expected to run Android 17-based ColorOS 17.
Oppo is expected to introduce the series in China later this month, with a global release reportedly planned for the first quarter of 2027. The company has already confirmed its November launch plans, while global certifications suggest that international availability is also being prepared.
