AOC has introduced the Q27G4K gaming monitor in China, aiming squarely at competitive gamers with its ultra-high refresh rate and color-accurate Fast IPS panel. The 27-inch monitor supports up to 400Hz refresh and features a QHD resolution, positioning it as a strong option for esports and fast-paced gaming. AOC has yet to confirm pricing or a release date. It also remains unclear whether the Q27G4K will be launched in global markets.

AOC Q27G4K Monitor Specifications

The Q27G4K features a 27-inch Fast IPS display with a QHD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. It offers a native refresh rate of 400Hz and a response time rated at 0.3ms MPRT (1ms GtG), enabling ultra-smooth motion clarity for esports titles. The panel meets VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification standards and reaches up to 450 nits of peak brightness under HDR, while typical SDR brightness is rated at 350 nits.

It comes with 10-bit color depth and covers 100% of the sRGB and 95% of the DCI-P3 color space. The panel also promises factory calibration with a Delta E value of less than 2, making it viable not just for gaming but also for creators who need consistent color performance. The monitor also comes with MBR-Sync technology that enables simultaneous use of FreeSync and motion blur reduction, ensuring clear visuals without screen tearing.

The monitor supports features like Game Tone Adjustment, Shadow Control, Dynamic Crosshairs, FPS counter, and picture-in-picture or picture-by-picture viewing modes. It also includes a black stabilizer for better visibility in dark scenes and low input lag mode for competitive gaming.

For connectivity, the Q27G4K equips two HDMI 2.1 ports with Display Stream Compression (DSC), one DisplayPort 1.4 input with DSC, and a standard 3.5mm headphone output. All display inputs support the full 400Hz refresh rate at QHD resolution.

In terms of ergonomics, the monitor includes height adjustment up to 130 mm, tilt between -5° to 23°, 30° swivel, and pivot support. It supports VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), features a flicker-free backlight, and includes blue light reduction for extended viewing comfort. The display weighs 3.87 kg without the stand and measures 613.9 x 366.3 x 52.6 mm.

Earlier this year, AOC introduced a 27-inch 2K gaming monitor with a 260Hz Fast IPS panel, 1ms GtG response time, and HDR400 support. Lenovo also launched a straightforward 120Hz IPS work monitor featuring USB-C connectivity and an ergonomic stand.

Google might be planning on kicking off the Android 16 beta program soon. The developer preview already went live nearly two months ago, and now, it appears that a Google employee may have revealed the release date for the Android 16 beta builds as well.

Android 16 Beta

The Search Engine giant officially confirmed the Android 16 beta will release the Android 16 beta in January 2025. This would be the first early build, with latter iterations planned to drop in February and March. Unfortunately, Google did not reveal the exact date for the Android 16 beta rollout. However, a comment from a Google employee was recently spotted by Android Authority on the Android Gerrit that may have confirmed the release date.

It seems like Google aims to kick off the Android 16 beta 3 on 12th March 2025. On the other hand, the first beta build did not get a set date of release. However, the employee did mention January 22 and February 19th, which could imply the first and second beta build of the Android 16. Since the beta 3 build is arriving in March, we can expect Google to launch the final build of Android 16 sometime in the second quarter of 2025.

So the stable update would likely arrive on Pixel devices around April or May, which is in line with our previous report. To recall, Android 16 is expected to offer a split screen mode inspired by the OxygenOS on OnePlus Open. This means you might be able to split three apps at the same time. There may also be support for improved WiFi security, Adaptive Refresh Rate (ARR), and much more.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, set for January 22, 2025, will unveil the Galaxy S25 series, including the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Key details about the S25 Plus have emerged through recent Geekbench listings, confirming the chipset and performance specifications.

Galaxy S25 Plus: Chipset and Performance

The Galaxy S25 Plus, with model number “SM-S936B,” appeared again on Geekbench, revealing a single-core score of 2721 and a multi-core score of 9435. The CPU configuration includes six cores clocked at 3.53 GHz and two cores at 4.47 GHz, paired with an Adreno 830 GPU for advanced graphics performance.

The Galaxy S25 Plus is expected to run Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7.0 overlay. The Geekbench listing indicates 10.72GB of RAM, likely marketed as 12GB, ensuring smooth multitasking and system performance.

Although earlier Geekbench listings hinted at the Exynos 2500 SoC for the Galaxy S25 Plus, the latest information confirms that the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This suggests Samsung will once again offer the device with the Exynos version in some regions, while others will receive models powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Galaxy S25 series: Everything we know so far

The Galaxy S25 and S25+ share many features, with the base model offering a compact design and the Plus variant providing a larger, flagship-sized option. Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC for Galaxy, while it looks like some regions might get the Exynos 2500 variants. The S25 includes a 4,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, while the S25+ features a 4,900mAh battery with 45W charging.

Leaks suggest that the S25 has a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, while the S25+ comes with a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ display. Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera systems on both models include a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP front camera.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the top-tier model, featuring a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1440p resolution and second-generation Gorilla Armor Glass. It will feature a refined design with a glass and titanium build, making it slightly slimmer and lighter than the previous model. The device uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, comes with 12GB of RAM, and includes a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired and Qi2 wireless charging.

The Ultra’s camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, along with a 10MP front-facing camera.
