OnePlus officially launched its first tablet and its name is obviously the OnePlus Pad, just like the names most of the brands out there gave to their first tablets. Despite being its first model, OnePlus decided to launch a flagship tablet instead of an affordable one. This is a totally different strategy if compared to Redmi which came up last year with the Redmi Pad. But a lot of people are wondering whether they really need a flagship tablet or an affordable one is enough for their needs. What would you answer to this question? If you are unsure, then you are in the right place. This comparison between the specifications of the OnePlus Pad and the Redmi Pad will highlight the main differences between these two tablets and let you understand which is the best tablet for your needs.

Design
The design of the OnePlus Pad is much better than the one of the Redmi Pad. First of all, it has thinner bezels around the display, so its screen to body ratio is much higher. Further, on the rear side, it sports a more ergonomic and original design. Last but not least, it comes with a sturdy aluminum frame. The only advantage provided by the Redmi Pad is a more compact size because this tablet sports a smaller screen. But for the rest, the OnePlus Pad is definitely more interesting as it is more beautiful and well-built. Further, the OnePlus Pad supports the attachment of a physical keyboard and a pen for handwriting and drawing, amazing for productivity.
Display
Obviously, the OnePlus Pad wins the display comparison too, however, the Redmi Pad does not have a disappointing panel. With the OnePlus Pad, you can get an IPS LCD display able to show up to one billion colors. First of all, it has a wider diagonal, with 11.61 inches. Further, it comes with a higher resolution of 2000 x 2800 pixels, so it provides a very high level of detail. It also comes with a higher 144 Hz refresh rate, one of the highest ever seen on a tablet. And we already talked about the pen support. The Redmi Pad is not able to compete with its rival, but it is still pretty good in terms of display. It has an IPS LCD panel able to show up to one billion colors with a diagonal of 10.61 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels, and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Both tablets come with four stereo speakers providing a very good audio experience, but they do not have an audio jack to connect wired earphones.
Specs & Software
The OnePlus Pad, as already said in the intro, is a flagship tablet. It is powered by a Dimensity 9000 chipset by Mediatek: one of the best in the Android world. It is a chipset built with a 4 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture. It runs at a max frequency of 3.05 GHz, it includes a Cortex X3 performance core and a Mali G710 MC10 GPU. Alongside the chipset, there are 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage (UFS 3.1). The Redmi Pad is a midrange tablet fueled by the MediaTek Helio G99 mobile platform. It is a chipset built with a 6 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture composed of two Cortex A76 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.2 GHz, six Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G57 MC2 GPU. Alongside the SoC, there are up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.2 native storage you can furtherly expand with a micro SD. These tablets ship with Android 12 and a highly customized user interface on top.
Camera
If your goal is to get the best rear camera, then there are no doubts: the OnePlus Pad is the best choice for you. It has a 13 MP rear camera providing a higher level of detail and photo quality. On the front, these tablets are at the same level because they both come with an 8 MP selfie shooter.
Battery
The OnePlus Pad comes with a way bigger battery and it should provide longer battery life in most of the possible scenarios. It also charges very quickly because it supports 67W fast charging.
Price
The starting price of the OnePlus Pad is yet to be announced, but it will cost a lot more than the Redmi Pad. The Redmi Pad starts from $268 / €250 at the actual change. Which one would you choose?
