Design
When it comes to design, both phones have their own unique features. The Samsung Galaxy S23 is a bit smaller and lighter than the Xiaomi 13, which makes it more comfortable to hold and use with one hand. Further, it has a more minimalistic look, it is more beautiful, in my honest opinion. The Galaxy S23 is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, just like its rival. In terms of build quality, both devices have a glass back and an aluminum frame, but Samsung has added some extra durability with the use of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back of the phone. So, if you are looking for the best build quality, you know what to choose.
Display
In terms of display, both devices are very similar. The Xiaomi 13 has a 6.36-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, while the Samsung Galaxy S23 has a slightly smaller 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with the same resolution. Both screens have a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader. They come with similar specifications, but they are not the same panels and they are not even produced by the same display manufacturer. However, you should get a very similar image quality due to their specifications. Both phones are equipped with stereo speakers for an improved audio experience.
Specs & Software
Both devices are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is the most powerful mobile processor available. The Samsung Galaxy S23, however, has a slightly higher clock speed of 3.36 GHz, which could result in slightly better performance, at least when it comes to the CPU. Both devices come with 8GB of RAM, but the Xiaomi 13 also offers higher storage options of up to 512GB, while the Samsung Galaxy S23 maxes out at 256 GB. The Xiaomi flagship also comes in a configuration with 12 GB of RAM, which is the reason why it wins the hardware comparison. The Samsung Galaxy S23 and the Xiaomi 13 run Android 13 out of the box, with highly customized user interfaces on top: One UI 5.1 and MIUI 14, respectively.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S23 has a triple-camera setup on the back, which includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. On the front, there is a 12MP selfie camera able to record videos with a 4K resolution. The Xiaomi 13 also has a triple-camera setup and the resolution are the same, with a 50 MP main shooter including OIS, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. However, it does have a different 32MP front-facing camera which only records 1080p videos.
