Samsung has been gradually increasing the price of its Galaxy A series phones worldwide. The latest mid-ranger from the company, Galaxy A54, costs as much as flagship killer smartphones from other brands.

For the asking price, the device does not deliver on its hardware front. But as they say, a product is a sum of its all parts, which include software, user experience, and other things.

At the end of the day, price matters most for the targeted audience — low-income consumers. The phone starts at around $450 in most markets, which can be termed expensive for its feature set.

Additionally, one can get a year or two old flagship Galaxy S series phone at this price that offers a better value.

So does it make sense to buy the Galaxy A54? We try to answer this question in this article.

Is Samsung Galaxy A54 worth buying?

In our opinion, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is not recommended at its launch price in all the countries where it is sold in. This does not mean the handset is bad. It’s just that you don’t get the maximum value for your investment.

The Galaxy A54 retails at around $450 in the US and most regions. In India, it costs around ₹38,999.

At this price, you can buy much more powerful smartphones like OnePlus 11R, Poco F5, and iQOO Neo 7 to name a few. But it is worth noting that such flagship-killer handsets are mostly limited to Asia and select European markets.

However, in Western regions, consumers can better deals on older flagships from Samsung. These powerful alternatives make more sense at the launch price of Galaxy A54.

Though these other devices will receive fewer software updates, they will age much better. Because Galaxy A54’s hardware components are through and through mid-range.

Samsung Galaxy A54 is only worth buying at discounted price

The Galaxy A54 is a good product. But it is only recommended when you can get it at a lower price than the launch price.

The smartphone can be considered a good deal if you can grab one for around $350 or say ₹30,000 in India. At this price, it sounds like a good value proposition.

Because you get IP67 water resistance, a feature that’s uncommon in this price segment. Further, the handset is guaranteed to receive four Android updates and five years of security updates.

Then, you get Samsung’s new uncluttered clean design language. Also, the image processing is on par with older Samsung flagships.

These are features that you won’t find on other devices in the segment. This makes the Galaxy A54 stand out among its competitors.
