Prior to launch, Nothing Phone (1) was hyped up for its transparent back panel design and the LED Glyph interface. Popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything who does comprehensive tests on smartphones did a teardown of the Nothing Phone (1) recently. It revealed the secrets of the device’s Glyph interface. Additionally, the YouTuber also uploaded the latest video that shows the count of the total LED lights.
The teardown of the Nothing Phone (1) reveals the smartphone’s innards. The Glyph grid is made up of hundreds of tiny individual LED lights (more on this later). The Nothing Phone (1) features an entire assembly dedicated to the aesthetics of the device. The smartphone sports a glass back panel and upon removing it, there are several pieces of plastic that are simply glued with no screws holding them. The YouTuber adds that there are 10 silver screws that hold down the larger plastic segments. The diffuser strips on the Glyph LEDs are attached with high-precise sticky tape that hides the yellowish tint. If the sticker is removed, the LEDs emit a Blueish colour hue when they are lit instead of the standard White colour.
Underneath all the plastic segments, the Nothing Phone (1) is just another Android phone. It has a wireless charging coil in the centre under the giant layer of plastic. The YouTuber says that individual components like LED lamps, buttons, ports, and battery are all replaceable however, it would require removing the rear panel’s adhesive and then dismantling the Glyph interface.
In another video that was uploaded yesterday, JerryRigEverything counted all the LED lights on the back panel. Nothing claims that it used over 900 lights for the Glyph interface. And the count also turned out to be close. The YouTuber counted 468 LEDs in total and he soon realised that the LEDs are on the both sides of the strip. So doubling the count brought the actual number of LEDs present on the phone to 972.

Earlier this week, Vivo announced that from its official Indian Twitter handle that its flagship X80 Pro smartphone will soon be receiving the Android 13 Preview build. Although, its not the only model as the iQOO 9 Pro is also confirmed to receive the Preview later this month. So let’s have a look.
Notably, both smartphones from the Chinese OEMs are set to receive the Android 13 Preview build by August 23. However, for both programs, there are only availability for 500 users. For those unaware, this preview will have the X80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro officially run on the Android 13 OS based FunTouch OS 13. But enthusiasts that have used preview builds before, they can check out the company’s developers website to manually download and install the Android 13 Developer Preview on their X80 Pro. MSI is adding two new models with 16-inch panels to its Prestige series of thin and light business laptops. The Prestige 16 and Prestige 16 EVO (Intel EVO standard) models are both equipped with Intel’s Alder Lake-P processors and feature a stylish Urban Silver chassis with a proprietary dual-fan cooling system for whisper-quiet operation (max 35 dB).
The non-EVO variant sports a 16-inch Mini-LED panel display panel with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 165Hz refresh, and 16:10 aspect ratio. If you want to buy a foldable phone, but you want it to be thin and light enough, then OPPO Find N and MIX Fold 2 are definitely one of the choices.
But I’m sure you’ll choose the MIX Fold 2 because two screens are better than the Find N. First, this 21:9 screen outside, the display area is straight, the right side of the protective glass has a curve, gesture operation is more comfortable, and at the same time, it will not affect the display. The protective glass is Corning Victus, and the bezel is also very narrow. And most importantly, it has 120Hz refresh rate. The screen inside is also a top screen, using UTG glass, and the creases are at the same level as the Vivo X Fold. It’s notable that the Eco² OLED panel is used this time, and the biggest benefit is that it’s more power efficient. I’m looking forward to seeing how much longer the MIX Fold 2 lasts in the full review battery life test.
Speaking of battery life, the MIX Fold 2 is packed with two batteries totaling 4500mAh. Although every foldable phone has a similar battery capacity, Xiaomi should have put a lot of effort into it considering it’s such a thin and light body. What’s Equally surprising is the fact that even at only 5mm thick, an IMX 766 main camera has been put in there. With Leica’s tuning, I believe that photography should not be the shortcoming of MIX Fold 2.
The MIX Fold 2 was delayed until today, I believe a big reason for that was to wait for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Without that chip, the Snapdragon 888+ or 8 Gen 1 would definitely make this phone’s battery drain a lot faster. We also probably run some benchmarks, and the scores can be paused for a closer look. The details of the camera test and game test will be further analyzed in our upcoming Full review, so stay tuned.
Xiaomi customized the MIUI Fold 13 system for the MIX Fold 2. Compared to the first gen system that was copied from the tablet, this system still has a lot of changes. For example, the layout has changed, there are more desktop icons, and many APPs have been optimized for layout. Gestures have also been added, such as a three-finger horizontal swipe to quickly split the screen. There are also various uses of multi-window, such as playing Genshin while using the map tools, and perhaps watching a video. The initial experience is that the MIUI Fold system is still good.
As we all know, when a phone gets lighter and thinner, it must come at a price. Mix Fold 2 is certainly not perfect, and there are some drawbacks that we knew even before we got the phone. For example, there is no wireless charging, which makes sense since wireless charging coils lead to a thicker body. The PC mode on the MIX Fold first gen has also been removed. In order to reduce weight, the hinge is simplified a lot, so it has a very small staying angle. This means that in many scenarios you are not able to use this device like the X Fold or Z Fold.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp enabled linking the account to a desktop computer. This feature allows users to make and receive calls and send messages without having their smartphone connected to the internet.
Now, the company has launched a native Windows app that no longer uses the old web-based backend and has been updated to run natively on Windows. The new app can be downloaded from the Microsoft App Store.
The native app is more smooth and more optimized compared to the web-based version. The interface has also been redesigned to look cleaner and more consistent with the Windows interface.
Users will still need to link it to a smartphone account that’s linked to a phone number. Once your devices are connected, you can use end-to-end encryption to send and receive messages, make WhatsApp calls, and more. Up to four linked devices can be utilized when your phone is offline, but after 14 days have passed since your last usage of your phone, linked devices will be automatically logged out.
A native macOS software from WhatsApp will also be released, however, it is still in the works. The WhatsApp MacOS software is now in closed beta testing and will be released as a MacOS “Universal app,” which means it will be built on the WhatsApp iPhone app and run natively on Apple silicon laptops.
Last week, OnePlus launched the first OxygenOS 13 open beta program for the OnePlus 10 Pro. The program was made available to Indian and North American (Unlocked) users. Now, the brand has announced the second open beta for the Android 13-based OS. And this time around, it’s also available for the European regions.

Last month, Dell launched the XPS 13 Plus laptop in the Indian market. Now, the brand has followed it with the launch of the Dell XPS 3 (9315), which is a sleek and lightweight machine with a durable aluminum body. So, let’s look at it in detail.
Dell XPS 3 (9315) specs & features
As mentioned above, the XPS 13 comes with a durable aluminum body that is 3.9mm thin and weighs just 1,17kg. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) InfinityEdge Non-Touch Anti-Glare screen and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The slim top bezel of the laptop holds a 720p webcam along with a 400p IR camera.
The device is powered by Intel’s 12th Generation Core processors, and customers can opt to go with either the Core i5 1230U or Core i7-1250U processor. It is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage (PCIe NVMe SSD). The laptop comes with Windows 11 out of the box.

The Dell XPS 13 (9315) is available in sky blue, with prices ranging from Rs. 99,989 ($1,260) for the Intel Core i5 variant to Rs. 1,29,989 ($1,639) for the Intel Core i7 variant (16+512GB). It will be offered on the company’s official website and at a few Dell stores.
Vivo is scheduled to launch the Vivo V25 series of smartphones in the Indian market later today. The brand is also preparing to debut two new devices in the Y series, dubbed the Vivo Y22s and the Vivo Y16. Both the Y22s and the Y16 have been subject to multiple leaks revealing their design and specs.
Now, tipster Paras Guglani (via MySmartPrice) has leaked retail promotional posters of both these devices, confirming their specs and design. So, let’s take a look.
The poster is written in Vietnamese. It reveals that the Vivo Y22s will come in a new design language called the laser pattern design. The device will have flat edges and be available in Green and Blue colors. In terms of specifications, the device will have a Snapdragon 680 SoC, 8GB of RAM, and an additional 8GB of Virtual RAM support.
Vivo Y22s 4G render
A sizable 5,000mAh battery pack with 18W fast charging capabilities will be included with the Y22s. The battery life of the device is up to two days on a single charge. The smartphone will include a 90Hz display with 2.5D curved glass on the front. The poster did not specify the screen size or resolution, though. Additionally, the device will have an IP54 grade for water and dust resistance. The Vivo Y22s’ dual camera system will have a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera.
Vivo Y16 render
Coming to the Vivo Y16, the poster confirms 4GN of RAM and 128GB of storage for the device. It will also get the virtual RAM feature capable of expanding the RAM by 1GB. Similar to the Y22s, we’ll get a flat edge design and 2.5D curved glass on the Y16. The phone will have a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary camera. A 5,000mAh battery unit will also be included, however, this will support 10W charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. Black and Gold will be the only color options for the smartphone.
