Largan, a well-known supplier of smartphone camera lens recently shared its sales report for April. According to the data, the firm’s revenue decreased by 13.98% compared to March. It was also declined by 6.03% YoY (year over year).

The company made a total of NT$4.683 billion (US$155 million) in this period. The types and quantity of lens it sold in April are as below.
- 20 megapixels and above accounted for 20-30%
- 10 to below 20 megapixels accounted for 40-50%
- 8 to below 10 megapixels accounted for 20-30%
- Below 8 megapixels accounted for 0-10%
Further, OEMs have reduced their orders by up to 30% for the second quarter. This will further affect the company’s revenue in the coming months.

Last month, a report revealed Samsung to have lowered smartphone components orders by 50%. And now, the new report proves it again. Being the largest smartphone manufacturer, South Korean chaebol plays an important role in the success of component manufacturers.
On the other hand, Huawei decreased its camera lens orders by a minimal amount as China is recovering, which is the company’s largest market.
