Galaxy S25 FE launch date reportedly confirmed — and it’s much sooner than expected

Samsung appears to be fast-tracking its next Fan Edition smartphone, with the Galaxy S25 FE reportedly set to launch earlier than usual. Leaks suggest the device will feature a familiar yet refined design, alongside some solid upgrades under the hood—fueling interest among fans looking for a flagship-like experience at a lower price point.

According to a new report from FN News, citing industry insiders, Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy S25 FE in South Korea on September 19, 2025. That would mark a quicker turnaround compared to last year’s S24 FE, which debuted globally in September 2024 but didn’t reach Korean shelves until November.

While Samsung has yet to confirm global launch dates, there’s speculation that the phone could also make an appearance around the IFA 2025 tech show in Berlin (September 5–9). In its recent Q2 2025 earnings call, Samsung emphasized plans to “maintain sales momentum” with an earlier FE release—hinting that the global launch may not lag far behind.

The device is rumored to be slimmer and lighter—measuring just 7.4mm thick and weighing around 190g, down from the predecessor’s 8mm thickness and 213g weight. On the front, its Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is rumored to hit a peak brightness of 2,600 nits (vs 1900 nits on the predecessor), all protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Under the hood, the S25 FE is expected to run on the Exynos 2400 chipset, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Unfortunately, the battery capacity is expected to be downgraded to 4,500mAh from the predecessor’s 4,700mAh—not a huge drop, but a downgrade nonetheless. The chipset isn’t expected to offer much better efficiency either, so don’t count on improved battery life. This is likely a trade-off for the reduced thickness and weight of the phone compared to the S24 FE. On the bright side, the 45W fast charging support (up from 25W) should help reduce downtime between charges.

The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to retail for around KRW 1 million in South Korea (roughly $719 USD).

Background blur is smooth, and edge artifacts are rare. However, the narrow depth of field can slightly impact focus in group shots.

Zoom performance is a major highlight, driven by the 200MP periscope telephoto camera. It produces sharp, detailed images up to 10x magnification in daylight. Even in moderate light, zoom photos retain clarity and contrast, though detail can soften slightly beyond 5x in dim environments. Telephoto video quality is also solid, with vibrant colors and good stabilization, though some noise appears in darker settings.

The ultra-wide camera is among the best available, delivering crisp images with minimal distortion and excellent edge-to-edge sharpness. It performs reliably even in low light, capturing well-exposed shots with balanced colors, though detail falls off slightly compared to the main camera.

In video recording, the primary camera handles exposure and focus transitions well, and supports 4K at 120fps. Colors remain natural and punchy across lighting conditions. Stabilization is smooth in most handheld scenarios, though some residual motion is visible while walking. Video from the telephoto and ultra-wide lenses also looks good, especially in bright light, but dynamic range narrows under challenging lighting.

Low-light performance across the camera system is strong. The main lens captures clean, detailed images with good color retention. The ultra-wide and telephoto cameras perform acceptably in dark scenes, though noise and softness are more pronounced.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 manually folded 200,000 times — here’s what happened

This wasn’t a controlled lab test with robotic arms and perfect conditions. Instead, it offered a more practical look at how the hinge and display hold up under normal wear and tear. Along the way, a few minor issues emerged. The phone rebooted unexpectedly somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 folds. At 46,000 folds, the hinge started to creak. And at around 75,000 folds, viewers noticed a mysterious liquid near the hinge, though it didn’t seem to impact functionality.

By the 100,000 mark, the crease became more visible and the hinge made a slight crackling sound. Still, the display panel and the folding mechanism continued working as expected.

At 175,000 folds, the Fold 7’s speaker stopped working—a glitch that appeared to be unrelated to the folding process itself. Despite that hiccup, the phone made it all the way to 200,000 folds without any critical failures.

That number is significant: it’s equivalent to over five years of use if you fold and unfold the phone about 100 times a day. While the test did reveal some minor aging signs—like the noisy hinge and the visible crease—the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s ability to keep functioning after 200,000 real-world folds is impressive. For anyone hesitant about investing in a foldable due to concerns about long-term durability, this hands-on test offers a clear message: the Fold 7 can take a beating and still deliver.

Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 16-Inch Launched in India with Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display

Samsung has launched the 16-inch Galaxy Book5 Pro in India, adding to the Galaxy Book5 series that arrived in March 2025. Until now, only the 14-inch version of the Galaxy Book5 Pro was sold in the country. The larger model has the same specifications as the 14-inch version, with the difference being the bigger display.

The Galaxy Book5 Pro 16-inch has a 16.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen with WQXGA+ resolution, a variable refresh rate of 48 to 120Hz, and peak brightness of 500 nits. The display offers vivid colours, smooth visuals, and reduced blue light for eye comfort.

It runs on the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor (256V or 258V) with Intel’s AI NPU that delivers up to 47 TOPS performance. It comes with up to 32 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage. Galaxy AI features such as AI Select and Recall are included, allowing users to search and revisit past content easily. A Copilot key on the keyboard gives quick access to AI tools.

Other features include a 2 MP webcam, dual microphones, and quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. The Pro Keyboard includes a numeric keypad. It runs Windows 11 Home.

Battery life is up to 25 hours of video playback. It has a 76.1Wh battery and supports 65W USB Type-C charging. Ports include two Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A, HDMI 2.1, a MicroSD slot, and a headphone/mic combo jack. The touchpad supports adaptive palm rejection and has subdivided zones for accuracy.

So the V500 Mini Tower PC can run a lot quieter compared to traditional desktop systems (38dB under load), while saving power consumption.

All of this is particularly useful in cramped spaces like offices, as they take up less space, generate less noise, and consume less power, which in turn reduces the heat the computer generates. The base model of the V500 Mini Tower isn’t particularly powerful, although, you can configure this compact desktop with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. Unlike the processor, the RTX 4060 is a desktop grade graphics card via a PCIe 4.0 x8.

UGREEN’s new 500W charger can power 5 laptops at once

UGREEN has launched a powerful new charging dock that can charge up to five laptops and one phone at the same time. It’s called the UGREEN 500W desktop charging base, and it’s now on sale in China. The company says this is the first 500W charging dock in the industry.

This charger comes with six ports: five USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The top port, USB-C1, supports up to 240W of power, which is enough to charge even big gaming laptops. The other four USB-C ports (C2 to C5) support up to 100W each. The USB-A port gives 20W, which is good for phones or smaller devices.

Different configurations for different use cases

Depending on how many devices you plug in, the charger will automatically change the power delivery to make sure each device gets what it needs.

For example:

    If you use only one port, you can get the full power, up to 240W.

    If you use two ports, the charger might split it to 240W + 100W, or 100W + 100W, depending on which ports you use.

    With three, four, or even six devices connected, the charger keeps adjusting the power. Some ports might give 100W, others 60W, and the USB-A port always gives 20W.

The charging dock also supports PD 3.1, the latest fast charging standard. That means your devices will charge quickly and safely.

UGREEN says the charger has smart safety tech built in. If the dock gets knocked over or overheats, it will automatically adjust the power to protect your devices and the charger itself.

Even with all this power, the dock is not too heavy. It weighs about 1.7 kilograms, and the total power it can give at once is 500W.

Price and Availability

The behemoth charging dock is available at a price of 899 yuan (around $125) in China. There’s no word on global availability yet.

The Exynos 2500 features a 4th-generation Xclipse 950 GPU, offering higher pipeline and floating-point operations per second (FLOPS) than the Adreno 750 GPU on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The latter, though, has higher shading units.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also features a full range of Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, providing an enhanced gaming experience. Both chips, however, bring support for hardware ray tracing.

NPU

The Exynos chip has a powerful NPU that can run up to 59 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The on-device AI performance is 39% better than its predecessor. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 features a hexagon NPU that’s 98% better than its predecessor. Both NPUs support various LLMs and on-device generative AI.

Camera

The Exynos 2500 supports up to 320MP camera resolution and up to 8K/60fps video recording. While not going into detail, Samsung states that there’s a new ISP capable of capturing vivid images and videos in high resolution. It also features several on-device generative AI capabilities, including removing unnecessary objects and expanding the background.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, on the other hand, has an 18-bit Spectra triple ISP with support for up to 200MP camera and 8K/30fps video recording. The chip offers a range of camera features, including real-time semantic segmentation, Video super resolution, Mega low-light photography, and Multi-frame Noise Reduction (MFNR).

Connectivity

The Exynos chip offers higher speeds on a 5G connection, with download speeds of up to 12.1 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 3.67 Gbps, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 peaks at 10 Gbps (download) and 3.5 Gbps (upload). It also supports satellite messaging.

On the plus side, the Snapdragon chip integrates premium audio features, including aptX Lossless and XPAN, for enhanced spatial audio. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are present on both chipsets.

The Exynos 2500 is a big step forward for Samsung’s in-house silicon. However, when stacked up against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s chip still holds a lead where it matters most. Xiaomi launches a 10k power bank with a kickstand, 33W fast charging & MagSafe support

Xiaomi has launched the Magnetic Power Bank Stand 10000mAh 7.5W in China. The new power bank is now available for pre-order on JD.com. It supports up to 33W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging, and is priced at 169 yuan ($24).

The device features a built-in stand that opens to a maximum angle of approximately 80 degrees. This allows users to prop up their smartphones while charging. Xiaomi has used 17 N52H-grade magnets for strong magnetic suction, enabling secure attachment to iPhones that support MagSafe. The magnetic charging function works with iPhone 12 series and newer, except the iPhone 16e. Xiaomi recommends using the feature with bare phones or official MagSafe accessories.

The power bank includes a USB-C cable with an L-shaped connector built directly into the unit. The cable supports a maximum output of 33W and an input of up to 30W when using a 12V/2.5A charger. Wireless output supports 5W, 7.5W, 10W, and 15W charging, covering most Qi-compatible smartphones and accessories. Xiaomi has added a digital display on the front of the power bank to show battery percentage, charging status, and error indicators.
