The display of 6.56 inches has an TFT LCD screen type and provides a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels while the pixel density is 269 PPI (pixels per inch). Honor Play 40 is powered by Qualcomm SM4350-AC Snapdragon 480+ 5G Octa-core processor and Adreno 619 GPU.

The smartphone is packed with 6 GB, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB internal storage. The sensors include side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, and compass. Honor Play 40 is fueled with Li-Po 5200 mAh battery + 10W wired battery. The device comes in four colors: Blue, Mint, Black, Purple.
