It weighs 225.1 grams and measures 8.6 mm thick, with a durable construction designed for demanding everyday use. Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max (Global) supports Nano-SIM and eSIM configurations, with up to two active SIMs. IP68/IP69K protection is offered in ROW markets, while EU models have IP68. It is also rated for drops up to 3 meters and water resistance up to 2 meters for 72 hours.

The 6.83-inch AMOLED display delivers 1280 x 2772 resolution, around 447 ppi, 120Hz refresh rate, 68 billion colors, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. Brightness reaches 1800 nits in HBM and 3500 nits peak. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 provides strong protection, while 3840Hz PWM dimming should help reduce visible flickering. 

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is built on a 4 nm process, featuring four Cortex-A78 performance cores, four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, and an Adreno 812 GPU. Storage ranges from 128GB to 512GB, with 8GB or 12GB RAM. The 128GB configuration uses UFS 2.2, while larger storage variants use significantly faster UFS 4.1, offering better performance for apps and file transfers.

The 50MP main camera features a bright f/1.5 aperture, PDAF, and OIS, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera offering a 120-degree field of view. Video recording reaches 4K at 30fps and 1080p at up to 120fps, with gyro-EIS and OIS. The 32MP selfie camera supports 4K recording at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60fps, and gyro-EIS, making it strong for both photography and video.

Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res and Hi-Res wireless audio provide a strong entertainment experience, although there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS, BDS, NFC, infrared, and USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG. An optical in-display fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, compass, accelerometer, and proximity sensor are also included.

The huge 9210 mAh battery is one of its biggest strengths, offering excellent potential for very long endurance. It supports 100W wired charging with PD3.0, allowing the large battery to be replenished relatively quickly. It also supports 27W reverse wired charging, making it useful as a power source for other compatible devices. The combination is especially appealing for heavy users who prioritize battery life.
