Flipkart has announced new Nokia-branded Air conditioners(AC) in India. The new ACs support inverter technology, have in-built Wi-Fi, intelligent motion sensors, and more.

Back in 2019, India’s eCommerce giant Flipkart partnered with Nokia to launch Smart TVs in India. Since then, the company has been launching Nokia-branded products including Smart TVs in the country. Recently, it expanded the portfolio by launching the Nokia PureBook X14 laptop. Now, the series of products gets new Air Conditioners.

A Flipkart teaser page accordingly describes(via) the features of the new ACs. However, it is yet to reveal the details of the five different models that are launching in India. Anyway, the ACs will start at ₹30,999($420) and will be available for purchase from December 29 via Flipkart.

As with every ACs, we can expect the 5 variants to differ in capacity(in Tons) and Energy efficiency(star-rating). In a press release, Dev Iyer, Vice President  Private Brands, Flipkart says the ACs will be “Made in India”, multi-functional and environment-friendly. The Air Conditioners will also boast a minimalist design, have dual-rotatory compressors with brushless DC motors, eco-friendly R-32 refrigerant for cooling.

Some of the notable features of the Nokia-branded Air Conditioners are as follows:

• Stabilizer free, Range of Voltage: 165V to 265V
• Rapid room cooling, 4-way swing, Turbo cross flow fan.
• Triple Inverter Technology with four-in-one Adjustable Mode(Inverter)
• Anti-corrosive 100% copper materials with Bluefin and Self-cleaning technology.
• six-in-one filters, Negative ionizer for Air purification.

In addition to the above features, the ACs also support smart home controls like customizable user profiles, multiple schedulers, smart-filter change reminders, and more. Users can also control the AC remotely via smartphone. The ACs also have intelligent motion sensors, ifeel technology for smart cooling.

At a launch event in China, Xiaomi launched six new products, including Xiaomi TV and Xiaomi Mural TV, Mi Weighing Scale, Mi Walking Machine, etc. Along with all these, the company also launched an air conditioner — Xiaomi Floor Standing AC.

As the name itself suggests, the Mi Floor Standing AC comes with a cylindrical design, totally different from the typical split ac that we’ve seen. The company says that it has two cooling capacity, 1100m3/h circulating air volume and is suitable for a room of about 20-32 square meter.

It also supports the swinging motion in all four directions — up and down as well as left and right. The company adds that the AC comes with three-dimensional air supply so that the air can reach the room very quickly at every corner.

The China-based company also says that the ducts and blades in the AC are specially optimized to offer a super quiet experience. It comes with 5100W cooling capacity and 5650W heating capacity. It is rated to offer air supply up to 8 meters long and 2100W ceramic PTC electric auxiliary heat.

Thanks to the built-in IoT chip, the Xiaomi Floor Standing AC also support controlling through the company’s Mi App. Its functions can be automated based on room temperature and humidity.

It comes with a new remote control that is divided into certain sections — screen area, main function area, and auxiliary function area. Different buttons on the remote come with different concave or convex design, making it easier to operate for a blind person.

The Xiaomi Floor Standing AC is priced at 3,499 Yuan in China, which roughly converts to $521. However, for the first sale, the product will be available for 2,999 Yuan, which is roughly about $446. It will be available for reservations from today itself.

As expected, Xiaomi has today officially released Mijia Smart Air Conditioner, which is priced at 2,599 Yuan that roughly converts to $376. The announcement of this new Smart Air Conditioner from Mijia comes a few months after the company launched the first Mijia Air Conditioner.

While the pre-bookings have already started on Xiaomi Mall, Tmall, and Suning, it will be available for purchase from 27th December. Initially, the Mijia Smart Air Conditioner will be available for purchase at a discount of 100 Yuan, effectively costing 2,499 Yuan (approximately $362). From 29th December, it will be available at its original pricing of 2,599 Yuan.

The Xioami’s Mijia Smart Air Conditioner is a 1.5-ton split wall-mounted AC which comes equipped with an advanced full DC frequency conversion technology. It supports Mijia App precision control as well as Xiaomi’s voice control.

By optimizing internal circuit design and advanced performance management algorithms, the APF value of the device is 4.75. For comparison, the national first-level energy efficiency standard is APF 4.5. With such energy efficiency, users can have a more comfortable experience with less electricity consumption. The company also claims it to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Coming to the design of the air conditioner, the company says that it continues with the concept of simple and fashionable suspension design, ensuring versatility for modern homes. Xiaomi also claims to have received “Japan G-Mark Gold Award” for the Mijia Smart Air Conditioner.

There’s “Big Eyes” round LED placed in the lower right corner of the air conditioner which displays the adjusted temperature. As said, users can also adjust the brightness of the LED. Further, Xiaomi says that it is made of high-quality weather-resistant ABS material.

When the company says that the Mijia App supports precision control, it enables users to 0.1-degree fine temperature control, along with wind speed, dehumidification switch, volume switch, display brightness, among others. It also supports full-scale adjustment control, including swaying angle control. The Mijia Smart Air Conditioner also supports control via voice commands, thanks to the company’s Xiao AI Classmates, which can be used by both children as well as elderly people.
