Two Acer smartphones debuted in India last year, but the brand has remained quiet since then. Now, Acer Mobile LATAM has silently unveiled the new Acer Sospiro A15, introducing a distinctive dual-display design, Android 16, and a 64-megapixel rear camera. The Acer Sospiro A15 features a 6.67-inch HD+ IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch. The highlight of the device is the 1.88-inch TFT display on the rear, which can show notifications, music controls and also works as a viewfinder for taking selfies with the primary camera.

Powering the smartphone is the Unisoc T615, which means the phone lacks support for 5G connectivity. The chip is coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also supports virtual RAM expansion up to 14GB by adding 8GB of unused storage, while storage can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. The device runs Android 16 out of the box and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

The Acer Sospiro A15 is equipped with a 64-megapixel AI dual rear camera system with LED flash. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with its own flash. Thanks to the rear display, users can also capture higher quality selfies using the main rear camera.

Acer Mobile LATAM has listed the Sospiro A15 on its official website, confirming that the device is headed for select Latin American markets, including Mexico. However, the company has not revealed its price or sale timeline yet. The phone is showcased in Naranja Vibrante (orange) and Azul Profundo (blue) color options.

Acer has released a new wired gaming headset in China, and the main talking point is simply how little it costs. The Acer OHW201 is currently listed on JD.com with a standard retail price of 69 yuan, which converts to about $10.

The OHW201 uses 40mm neodymium dynamic drivers. These are tuned to provide a clear soundstage with distinct mids and enough bass to help players pick up on standard in-game audio cues like footsteps or environmental noises. It also includes support for 7.1 virtual surround sound, a software-based spatial audio feature meant to help with directional sound positioning during multiplayer matches.

The headset uses a closed-back acoustic design, which provides passive noise isolation to block out regular room noise. To make the headset comfortable to wear for a few hours at a time, Acer went with a floating dual-headband design. The over-ear cups feature cooling cushions made from a layered mix of memory foam, a breathable ventilation layer, and a skin-friendly fabric.

For voice chat, the OHW201 includes a 360-degree omnidirectional microphone. Acer says the mic uses intelligent voice pickup to filter out background noise, which should make it fine for standard Discord calls or multiplayer lobbies. Aesthetically, it looks like a typical gaming headset, complete with dynamic RGB lighting on the earcups. It comes in both black and white color options.

On the technical side, the OHW201 connects via a standard 1.8-meter cable. It has an impedance of 16Ω ±10%, a sensitivity of 95±3dB, and a microphone sensitivity of -42±3dB.

Acer has added a new model to its home theater lineup. The HL6820GTV is a 4K laser projector that includes built-in Google TV and gaming features like a 144Hz variable refresh rate. It will be available in the EMEA region in the third quarter of 2026, with a starting price of €1,399.

The projector uses a 0.47-inch DMD panel to display a 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution. Instead of a traditional lamp, it uses a laser light source. Acer states this allows the unit to reach a brightness of 4,000 ANSI lumens in standard mode, which makes it usable in rooms with ambient daylight.

There is also an Eco mode that reduces the brightness to 3,200 lumens, lowers the fan noise to 29 dBA, and extends the expected lifespan of the laser from 20,000 to 30,000 hours. According to the company, this laser setup consumes 35% less power than lamp-based projectors operating at the same brightness.

For media playback, the projector covers the Rec. 709 color standard and has a dynamic contrast ratio of 3,500,000:1. It includes a built-in Google TV dongle, meaning you can access streaming apps directly from the interface and use voice search through the remote without needing to plug in a separate streaming stick.

For connectivity, it includes two HDMI 2.1 ports. While it outputs at 4K for standard viewing, it has specific modes for gaming. Acer has announced the HD1500, a new portable 1080p smart projector. It is priced at €149 and will be available in the EMEA region in Q3 2026, where it will be sold under the name AOpen QP30t. It is a straightforward budget option for people who want to watch streaming video without setting up a permanent TV or home theater.

The design is built around an integrated swivel stand. You can rotate the projector 360 degrees and tilt it up to 180 degrees. This means you can point it at a standard wall, angle it into a corner, or aim it straight up at the ceiling. It weighs 1.2 kg (about 2.6 lbs) and measures roughly 7.8 by 5.7 inches, making it relatively easy to carry from one room to another.

Inside, the projector uses an LCD panel and an LED light source to display a native 1920 x 1080 image. Acer lists the standard brightness at 350 ANSI lumens. In practical terms, 350 ANSI lumens means you will need a dark room to get a clear picture; it will struggle to compete with daylight or bright overhead lighting. The throw ratio is 1.29, which produces a 70-inch screen if you place the device two meters away from the wall. The LED lamp has an estimated lifespan of up to 30,000 hours.

Because it is meant to be moved around frequently, Acer included several automated setup features to cut down on manual adjustments. It has auto-focus and auto keystone correction to square up the image. There is also an obstacle avoidance feature that uses a built-in sensor to detect things like light switches or picture frames on the wall, automatically shrinking and shifting the projection to avoid them.

For software, the HD1500 runs a built-in smart interface that supports standard streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube. If you want to plug in external devices, the physical ports are minimal: one HDMI 1.4 port, one USB-A 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It has two built-in 5W speakers, plus Bluetooth 5.4 if you prefer to connect your own wireless headphones or a soundbar.

Acer is the latest company to bet on smart eyewear with two new glasses. And unlike the Meta Ray-Bans, they take opposite approaches to what “smart” even means on your face.

The first is the Acer AR Vision GR0, a pair of AR glasses built around a high-quality visual experience. The second is the GI0, a lighter, wireless pair focused almost entirely on Google Gemini AI and a built-in camera. They share a product category in name only.

The GR0 Is All About the Screen

The AR Vision GR0 packs dual Micro OLED displays, each running at 1920×1080 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. Acer claims the combined effect feels like watching a 172-inch screen from about six meters away. The color coverage hits 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut, and the contrast ratio reaches 50,000:1.

Like most AR glasses in this space, the GR0 doesn’t have its own processor. It needs to be plugged into your phone, laptop, or PC to work; that’s how Acer kept the weight down to just 69 grams. 

The trade-off, however, is the wired tether, which won’t suit everyone. On the bright side, it works across Android, iOS, and Windows, includes near-ear speakers, 3DoF head tracking, and supports magnetic prescription lenses for those who need them.

The GI0 Keeps Things Light and Wireless

At 46 grams, the GI0 is noticeably lighter and cuts the cord entirely. It connects to your phone over Wi-Fi 5 or Bluetooth 5.0 and runs Google Gemini as its core AI feature. This includes hands-free voice queries, real-time translation, and AI-generated captions wherever you go.

There’s also a 12MP camera onboard capable of shooting 4032×3024 stills and recording 1080p video at 30fps, along with three microphones and 32GB of internal storage. A companion app called Acer AspireSync handles setup and settings. The battery is a modest 217mAh, so don’t expect all-day endurance.

Pricing and Availability

Both devices are heading to North America, Europe, and Australia in late 2026. The AR Vision GR0 starts at $499.99 in the US (€599 in Europe, AUD 999 in Australia), with most markets seeing it in Q4 2026. The GI0 is cheaper at $299.99 in the US (€399 in Europe, AUD 599 in Australia) and is also targeting Q4, though Australia gets both devices a quarter earlier.

Acer has unveiled two new Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops in India. The company has introduced the Swift Spin 14 AI for users seeking advanced AI capabilities and premium mobility, while the Aspire Go 15 targets everyday computing needs with a more affordable approach. The announcement also marks the debut of Acer’s first laptop powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon C platform.

Swift Spin 14 AI focuses on performance and flexibility

The Acer Swift Spin 14 AI arrives as a Copilot+ PC and is available with either the Snapdragon X2 Elite or Snapdragon X2 Plus processor. Both configurations include a dedicated neural processing unit capable of delivering up to 80 TOPS of AI performance. The laptop supports up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, while integrated Adreno graphics add support for DirectX 12.2 and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

Acer has adopted a convertible design with a 360-degree hinge, allowing the device to function as a traditional laptop, presentation device or tablet. The 14-inch WUXGA IPS touchscreen offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent sRGB colour coverage and support for the bundled Acer Active Stylus 420 based on Wacom AES 2.0 technology. The stylus supports 4,096 pressure levels and tilt detection, making it suitable for note-taking and creative work.

The laptop features a 65Wh battery that Acer claims can deliver up to 23 hours of video playback or up to 16.5 hours of web browsing. Fast charging is supported through a 100W USB Type-C adapter. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, dual USB Type-C ports with USB4 support, two USB Type-A ports and HDMI 2.1. A 5-megapixel infrared camera with Windows Hello support, DTS:X Ultra audio and Snapdragon Sound compatibility are also included.

Aspire Go 15 brings Snapdragon C to the entry segment

Alongside the premium Swift model, Acer has introduced the Aspire Go 15, becoming the first PC manufacturer to announce a laptop powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon C processor. The device is aimed at users looking for a budget-friendly Windows laptop for web browsing, work and media consumption.

The Aspire Go 15 comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, up to 8GB memory and up to 512GB storage. It includes a 53Wh battery, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, a Full HD webcam, dual speakers and multiple ports including USB Type-C, USB Type-A and HDMI. Acer has also incorporated its AcerSense software for system management and optimisation. The company says the laptop uses recyclable packaging and includes recycled materials in its construction.

Availability

Acer has confirmed that the Swift Spin 14 AI will be available in North America from August 2026, while customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa will get access from July 2026. The laptop is also scheduled to arrive in Australia during the third quarter of 2026.

Meanwhile, Acer has not yet announced the launch timeline for the Aspire Go 15. The company is also yet to reveal pricing details for either device, with availability and configurations expected to vary across different markets.

The device ships with Windows 11 and includes access to XBOX Game Pass, allowing users to play a wide range of PC games directly on the handheld.

A court decision in Germany has temporarily blocked Acer and ASUS from selling certain PCs directly in the country, following a patent dispute with Nokia.

The ruling comes from the Munich I Regional Court, which sided with Nokia in a case involving standard-essential patents (SEPs) tied to the H.265/HEVC video codec. HEVC is widely used for compressing high-resolution video, including 4K and 8K playback, and is built into modern processors and graphics systems.

According to the court, Acer and ASUS were found to have infringed Nokia’s patents without securing licenses on FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory) terms. As a result, the court granted Nokia an injunction. That means the two PC makers cannot import, sell, or distribute affected devices directly in Germany, at least for now.

What’s affected?

Because HEVC support is deeply integrated into current hardware and software stacks, the decision potentially covers most recent laptop and desktop models from both companies. Acer has already removed PCs from its German online store, leaving only accessories such as monitors available. ASUS has similarly restricted parts of its German website, with some product pages offline or marked as unavailable.

Both companies have said the move is tied to the temporary injunction. They’ve also stressed that warranties, repairs, and customer service in Germany are continuing as normal.

The injunction applies to the manufacturers themselves, not to third-party retailers. That means stores like Amazon, MediaMarkt, and other electronics chains can continue selling devices already in inventory.

However, once current stock runs out, replenishing it could become difficult unless the dispute is resolved or a licensing agreement is reached.

Nokia filed patent lawsuits in 2025 against Acer, ASUS, and Hisense over HEVC-related intellectual property. Hisense later reached a licensing agreement with Nokia, leading to the claims against it being withdrawn.

Acer and ASUS have not settled so far and are expected to pursue appeals. Licensing negotiations may still be ongoing behind the scenes.

The system runs on Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K with 24 cores, including 8 performance and 16 efficiency cores, reaching boost clocks up to 5.7GHz. It integrates an NPU for accelerating AI tasks like gaming, productivity, and content creation. Acer pairs it with a Z890 chipset and sets a 200W PL1 power limit for sustained performance.

At IFA 2025, Acer has added four new models to its Nitro monitor lineup. The Nitro XV275K V6, Nitro XV273U W1, Nitro XV270X, and Nitro XZ403CKR provide high refresh rates, accurate color reproduction, and a range of resolutions for different gamer requirements.

The Nitro XV275K V6 is a 27-inch 4K UHD panel with 180 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms VRB Pro response, and AMD FreeSync Premium. It reaches 1,000 nits peak brightness with HDR10 support and covers 97 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Connectivity includes dual HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs.

The Nitro XV273U W1 uses a 27-inch WQHD panel with an overclockable 275 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms VRB Pro response. It is VESA DisplayHDR 500-certified with peak brightness of 500 nits and covers 95 percent of DCI-P3. It includes dual 2W speakers and multiple ports for input flexibility.

The Nitro XV270X is a 27-inch display that delivers 5K resolution at 72 Hz or 144 Hz in DFR mode at 2560×1440. It features a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, 95 percent DCI-P3 coverage, 1 ms VRB response, and dual 2W speakers.

The Nitro XZ403CKR is the largest in the lineup with a 39.7-inch curved 1000R VA panel. It provides 5K WUHD resolution at 180 Hz and supports DFR up to 288 Hz at WFHD resolution. Response times are 1 ms VRB and 0.5 ms GTG. It features dual 5W speakers, USB-C with 90 W power delivery, and AMD FreeSync Premium.

These monitors join the Nitro V 16 and V 16S laptops, as well as the Nitro 70 and Nitro 50 desktops that Acer introduced at IFA 2025. Acer has also updated its high-end Predator gaming lineup with the new Helios 18P AI-powered laptop, the X27U F8 OLED monitor, and the refreshed Orion 7000 and 5000 series desktop PCs.

The Predator X27U F8 uses Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (DFR) technology to switch between two performance modes. Alongside these models, the brand also unveiled two tablets with tall displays that rival laptop screens. So here are all the details of the Iconia A14 and Iconia A16.

Acer Iconia A14

As the name suggests, the Iconia A14 sports a tall 14-inch IPS LCD panel with a FHD resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and the ZeroFrame design. Acer offers this large display for daily use in mind. From watching media to browsing the web or scrolling through social media, the tablet was designed with a focus on a large screen real estate. This is more apparent considering how you get an integrated kickstand and screen casting feature, allowing it to double as a secondary screen.

Under the hood, the Iconia A14 is equipped with the Allwinner A733 processor. The chip is paired with 7GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. You get an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calls. A sizeable 8,000mAh battery pack powers this model, which Acer claims can last for up to 10 hours. Acer Iconia A16

Alongside the Iconia A14, the brand showcased the larger Iconia A16 at IFA. This is another budget model that will go on sale in Q2 2026 for 299 Euros. It sports a massive 16-inch FHD IPS LCD panel, which is taller than the standard 15.6-inch laptop. Allwinner A733 powers this model as well, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The same 8,000mAh battery and 10 hour battery life claim returns on this model. Other similarities include the 8MP camera on the rear, a 5MP selfie shooter, Android 15 OS out of the box, Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6, dual USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, quad speakers, and design elements also remain unchanged in the taller variant. The Vapor Silver is the only color option, and the Iconia A16 measures a hefty 980 grams, nearly as heavy as a thin-and-light notebook.

Both tablets arrive with AI powered tools like AI Super Resolution for video upscaling and AI Smart Sensing for better gesture controls. The brand has now revealed the pricing details with the Iconia A14 starting from 300 US Dollars or 260 Euros, while the Iconia A16 is going on sale for 340 US Dollars or 300 Euros. The duo will be available for purchase in January 2026.

Acer has just introduced two new additions to its tablet lineup during the IFA 2025 event. The Iconia X12 and Iconia X14 tablets are new models for everyday use, bringing vibrant OLED displays, quad speakers, and much more for at a budget.

Acer Iconia X12

The Acer Iconia X12 is the smaller model, sporting a 12.6-inch AMOLED display that has a 60Hz refresh rate, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits of peak brightness, and a 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1600p). Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. So, the brand isn’t bringing any upgrade over the Iconia X12 tablet that debuted back in 2024.

A sizeable 8,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which Acer claims can offer up to 16 hours of battery life. For photography, the tablet features a 13MP camera on the rear, while the front houses a 5MP shooter for selfies and video calls. This model was announced with various accessories, including a magnetic kickstand and a detachable keyboard. There are also AI powered tools like AI Super Resolution for video upscaling and AI Smart Sensing for gesture controls.

Other notable features include Android 15 OS out of the box, quad speakers, a microSD card slot with up to 1TB of storage expansion, dual band WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.2. It measures just 6.5mm in thickness and weighs 500 grams. Out of all the new Iconia tablet launches, the Iconia X12 is the only one that receives support for stylus input and the optional keyboard case.

Acer’s Iconia X14 is the larger of the two new budget tablets, with a tall 14-inch OLED screen. It also has a 60Hz refresh rate with thin bezels. But downgrades the resolution to 1920 x 1200p. At this size, the tablet can basically double as a portable thin-and-light laptop. The large OLED screen makes it great for media consumption, browsing, and productivity based tasks. This model is equipped with the Allwiner A733 chip, which features an NPU that brings AI powered features to the tablet, like AI smart Sensing, AI Super Resolution, and more.

The chip is coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256Gb of internal storage. Users can also expand the storage via a microSD card slot on this model as well. You get an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. The Acer Iconia X14 houses a large 8,000mAh cell, runs on the Android 15 OS, packs a quad stereo speakers, along with support for dual band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.4.

Pricing and Availability

Acer will kick off the sales for both the Iconia X14 and Iconia X12 later this year, in November. The Iconia X12 will have a starting price tag of 320 US Dollars or 280 Euros, while the Iconia X14 will start from 350 US Dollars or 260 Euros.
