AMD has just launched its latest generation of the desktop processors. The new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs were highly anticipated across the globe by professionals, gamers, and even enthusiasts. So let’s have a look at their pricing, specs, and features.

Team Red has just announced four new processors that target different price range and offer varying performance and functionality. This series starts from Ryzen 5 7600X, followed by the Ryzen 7 7700X and the Ryzen 9 7950X, and lastly, the top end Ryzen 9 7950X CPU. Notably, the Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors also comes with support for new socket AM5 platform. This supports dual channel DDR5 memory, up to 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and will be supported by the company till 2025 and beyond.

While the Ryzen 5 7600X is the entry model for now, it is still quite a powerful processor. It is the successor to the popular last gen Ryzen 5 5600X model and also features a 6 core and 12 threads CPU with a base frequency of 4.7GHz and a boost clock speed of 5.4GHz. This model also has a total TDP of 105W and has a total cache of 38MB. The Ryzen 7 7700X is where the higher end model starts, with 8 cores and 16 threads and a base frequency of 4.5GHz and boost clock speed of 5.4GHz. This processor also has a 105W TDP and has 40MB of total cache.

The Ryzen 9 series starts with the Ryzen 9 7900X, which is the top end model for most customers. It offers 12 cores and 24 threads with a base frequency of 4.7GHz and a boost clock speed of 5.6GHz. With these specs, it is clear that apart from great gaming performance, the processor will likely be an attractive option for creative professionals and even productivity based users. This CPU has a 170W TDP and has a 76MB total cache.

New AMD rumor reveals key details about Ryzen 7000H & 8000 series CPUs

Sean — Mon, 15 Nov 2021 14:00:47 +0000

A new rumor has just revealed interesting information regarding the upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000H series mobile APUs (Ryzen CPU’s with integrated Radeon graphics) and even the desktop lineup of Ryzen 8000 processors as well.

The news arrives from @greymon55 on Twitter (Via NotebookCheck) who revealed the key information related to Ryzen 7000H and 8000 series. For those unaware, the upcoming AMD Ryzen 6000 Rembrandt is successor to the last gen’s Cezanne. While the Rembrandt is based on the Zen 3+ and RDNA 2 architecture, the succeeding model that will replace it will arrive in two variant, namely Phoenix-H and Raphael-H APUs that feature Zen 4.

These two mobile APU variants will apparently be launching sometime in late 2022. The Phoenix is rumored to be based on the 5nm Zen 4 with up to 8 cores and 16 threads and is expected to feature up to a 40W TDP rating. On the other hand, the Raphael will also be based on Zen 4 but will reportedly feature up to 16 cores and 32 threads, with its TDP crossing 45W. Similar to the Ryzen 7000 series APUs, the desktop Ryzen 8000 series will also launch in two variants as per the tweet.

The processors in question are desktop grade chips, including Granite Ridge and Strix Point. These chips are rumored to be based on the Zen 5 architecture, with the Granite Ridge using 3nm Zen 5 cores for its mainstream desktop processor lineup. Greymon added this chip will sport both 3nm and 6nm Zen 5 cores. Meanwhile, the Strix Point is the next gen mainstream APU lineup for desktops that feature 3nm Zen 5 cores along with 5nm Zen 4D cores as well. So, the desktop APUs are planned to be a hybrid variant with the Zen 4D’s design being similar to the “LITTLE cores” in smartphone chips. Keep in mind that these processors are still far off, so take this report with a pinch of salt.

HP confirms AMD Ryzen 7000 chips, might launch in early 2022

Sean — Mon, 11 Oct 2021 13:12:15 +0000

HP might have just revealed certain key details regarding the AMD Ryzen 7000 series of processors. A recent listing from the company has hinted that the upcoming next gen series of processors from Team Red could be launching sometime in early 2022.

According to HotHardware, the American PC maker’s listing revealed a pair of AIO (All in One) desktop systems that feature the Ryzen 7000 series of processors. These AIO PCs arrive in either 24 inch or 27 inch models in Starry White and Starry Forest. Apart from AMD, these systems will reportedly also feature Intel’s 12th Gen Core i7 processors as well, which is the latest Alder Lake lineup.

While this basically confirms the existence of the Ryzen 7000 series, the listing could still be a typo or some form of mistake. Although, listings revealing yet to be announced technology is not an uncommon occurrence. Although finer details regarding the Ryzen 7000 series chips is currently unknown, we can assume that the upcoming generation of processors is likely based on the Zen 4 architecture.

But this can’t be confirmed as of right now. The new Ryzen chips could very well also be the latest generation of APUs from AMD. In other words, it might be the Rembrandt APUs that are set to launch with Zen 3+ refresh, which is basically an enhancement over the Zen 3 architecture. This architecture also marks the shift to 6 nanometer manufacturing process from the 7nm on Zen 3 and stacked 3D V-cache. AMD has confirmed that it plans on launching chips with stacked 3D V-cache, so this might the chips that are listed on HP’s website.
