A new leak says we will be getting a successor early next year, and one with a cheaper price tag.

The 8th-gen iPad has a starting price of $329, a 10.2-inch screen, and an Apple A12 Bionic chipset but its successor will pack a larger display, a more powerful chipset, and a lower starting price. Awesome, right?

According to the leaker that goes by Tron (@cozyplanes), the 2021 iPad will have a 10.5-inch Retina display with a home button that has Touch ID. This means with respect to design, it should have thick bezels just like the current model. However, he does say that the new tablet will be thinner and lighter.

10.5" iPad
with A13 chip coming early 2021

— Tron (@cozyplanes) December 13, 2020

Under the hood, the 10.5-inch iPad will have the A13 Bionic chipset, the same chipset found in the iPhone 11 series. The processor will be paired with 4GB of RAM but there is no info on the storage variants. The 2020 model comes with 3GB of RAM and can be purchased in two variants – 32GB and 128GB.

EDITOR’S PICK: Apple launches its first-ever wireless headphones, AirPods Max, with ANC, 20hrs battery life

The new iPad has been reported to have a starting price of $299, even cheaper than the $329 starting price of this year’s model. However, the low price tag may be a hint that the base model will have 32GB of storage. Yeah, we know the available storage will be barely enough but since the new model will cost less and be more powerful, we can’t complain too much.

Although not stated, the new iPad should support the Apple Pencil (hopefully 2nd gen), Apple Smart Keyboard, and Xbox, PS4 and or PS5 controllers. It should also have an LTE variant.

Apple is expected to launch this new iPad in early 2021 which is less than six months since the launch of this year’s model. Regardless, we will advise you to take the info above with a grain of salt until more details surface.

It has landed in the U.S. with a starting price of $399. The iPhone SE 2020 comes in three storage editions such as 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. India is one of the first markets that will be receiving the iPhone SE. At the launch, Apple had confirmed the pricing of the base model of the iPhone SE 2020 for India. The pricing of the other two variants of the smartphone is now mentioned in its official listing on Apple India website.

Apple iPhone SE 2020 price in India

The 64 GB iPhone SE 2020 is priced at Rs. 42,500. The 128 GB and 256 GB storage editions of the smartphone are priced at Rs. 47,800 and Rs. 58,300 in India. The pricing of the iPhone SE 2020 is higher than the U.S. prices. The recent hike in the GST rate and depreciating value of INR against USD could be the reasons behind it. The Cupertino company is yet to confirm on the availability of the iPhone SE 2020 in India.

Some reports have claimed that it may go official on April 15. However, a new report on 9to5 Mac states that cites information from its highly trust reader claims that the company will begin receiving orders for the iPhone SE’s successor as soon as tomorrow. While recent reports had claimed the device will be debuting as iPhone 9, the publication has revealed that it will go official as “iPhone SE” and it will be referred to as 2020 version.

2020 iPhone SE key details

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max from last year were fueled by the Apple A13 Bionic chip. The same SoC will be powers the 2020 iPhone SE. It will bring support for augmented reality features.

In terms of design, the iPhone SE 2020 will bear resemblance with the iPhone 8. Since it won’t support 3D Touch, it is expected to deliver better battery life. It could be the only new iPhone to sport the good old Touch ID sensor..

Apple says theA13 Bionic SoC is more powerful than the Snapdragon 855 and the Kirin 980, respectively.
The GeekBnech listing shows the SoC is much faster than not just the SD 855 and Kirin 980 but also the Snapdragon 855+ and on both the single-core and multi-core tests. The A13 Bionic also records a faster performance than Samsung’s Exynos 9825 that powers the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.

The device is listed as iPhone 12,3 but is believed to be the iPhone 11 powered by the Apple A13 Bionic. The device scored a massive 5,472 points in the single-core benchmark on Geekbench 4 and on the multi-core test it scores 13,769 points, which is equally impressive.

EDITOR’S PICK: Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite key specifications and pictures leaked

We’ll draw comparisons with the GeekBench score of the Black Shark 2 packing a Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The device could only muster a single-core score of 3,623 points and a multi-core score of 11,367 points. On the other hand, the Exynos 9825 achieved a score of 4532 points in the single-core tests and 10,431 in the multi-core tests.
