<p>Now a report from Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Tianfeng International says that the newly released Beats Studio Buds are powered by MediaTek&#8217;s TWS chip manufactured using the 22nm process instead of the Apple H1 chip made on 16nm process.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-394772 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Beats-Studio-Buds-featured.jpg?x10805" alt="Beats Studio Buds featured" width="947" height="608" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Beats-Studio-Buds-featured.jpg 947w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Beats-Studio-Buds-featured-300x193.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Beats-Studio-Buds-featured-768x493.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Beats-Studio-Buds-featured-696x447.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Beats-Studio-Buds-featured-654x420.jpg 654w" sizes="(max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px" /></p>
<p>It is believed that the reason behind using <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek">MediaTek</a> chipset and not the company&#8217;s own semiconductor product is better compatibility with Android devices as the US-based tech giant is now focusing on Android users as well to increase its market share in the true wireless earphones category.</p>
<p>Another reason for the tech giant to use MediaTek chipset could be shortened development timelines, more flexible and competitive strategies, reduced costs, and differentiation from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-airpods">AirPods series</a>.</p>
<p>Given that Apple is now using MediaTek&#8217;s chipset in its TWS offerings, the Taiwanese company will now be able to push the product to other companies as well, helping MediaTek boost its sales in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tws-earphones">TWS</a> chips segment.</p>
<p>Further, the report talks about the market share of wearables. It adds that although Apple remains the market leader in this category, its market share is declining. Due to lower-than-expected demand for AirPods in Q2 2021, the forecast of shipments was revised down to approximately 70-75 million units instead of around 85 million units.</p>
