The standard iPhone 14 could remain nearly identical to the iPhone 13. Even so, we expect some improvements over the current models.</p>
<p>As we wait for official confirmation and more details on the <a href="http://Gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-14">iPhone 14</a>, here’s a quick roundup of everything we know so far.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-481743" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 14 launch event" width="1200" height="1200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/gsmarena_001-5-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<h2>iPhone 14 Design</h2>
<p>Reports indicate that Apple will be widening the gap between Pro and standard models with the upcoming iPhone 14 series. The company may reserve the new processor, design, and cameras for the pro lineup.</p>
<figure id="attachment_465223" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-465223" style="width: 1352px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-465223" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone 14 dummies" width="1352" height="872" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies.jpg 1352w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies-300x193.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies-1024x660.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies-768x495.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies-696x449.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies-1068x689.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iPhone-14-dummies-651x420.jpg 651w" sizes="(max-width: 1352px) 100vw, 1352px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-465223" class="wp-caption-text">iPhone 14 Series prototypes</figcaption></figure>
<p>The standard iPhone 14 is expected to look very similar to its predecessor, with the same notch and similar camera bump. However, the iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to get a new look this year. They&#8217;re said to lose the unsightly notch for a pair of pill+hole cutouts.</p>
<p>A new leak suggests the Pro models could also feature a single capsule-shaped hole instead of two cutouts. Moreover, the gap between the selfie camera and Face ID module will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/09/01/apple-aims-to-make-negative-space-between-two-cutouts-pure-black-on-iphone-14-pro-when-turned-on/">reportedly</a> be used as a privacy indicator for the cameras and microphone.</p>
<figure id="attachment_457572" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-457572" style="width: 960px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-457572" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-front-glass-display-panels.jpeg?x44794" alt="iPhoen 14 lineup displa panels" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-front-glass-display-panels.jpeg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-front-glass-display-panels-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-front-glass-display-panels-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-front-glass-display-panels-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-front-glass-display-panels-630x420.jpeg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-457572" class="wp-caption-text">iPhone 14 lineup display panels</figcaption></figure>
<p>Getting back to the iPhone 14, it is expected to carry a shorter and thinner notch than the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-13">iPhone 13.</a> On the back, the handset will have two rear cameras aligned diagonally. It will likely have flat edges and an aluminum frame.</p>
<h1>iPhone 14 Specs &amp; Features</h1>
<p>iPhone 14 will have the same 6.1-inch display as the previous year’s <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/apple-iPhone-13">iPhone 13</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/apple-iPhone-13-pro-max">iPhone 13 Pro Max</a>. It could feature an OLED panel, along with True Tone, Haptic Touch, and HDR support. It is also reported that the standard iPhone 14 model will come with Apple&#8217;s ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate, however, it may not be adaptive.</p>
<p>If we talk about the processor, iPhone 14 will retain the last year’s A15 chip. This is definitely disappointing since a new chipset is one of the biggest upgrades Apple brings with each new model.  However, the Pro models are expected to be powered by a new A16 Bionic chip.</p>
<p>The chipset will likely be paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Even though the iPhone 14 will be powered by a year-old chip, it will still be more powerful than most phones on the market.</p>
<p>If we talk about the battery, the iPhone 14 is expected to receive a slight improvement in terms of battery size. We can expect the handset to offer at least 19 hours of battery on a single charge. It will likely carry the same 20W charging support.</p>
<h2>iPhone 14 Cameras</h2>
<p>Various leaks and rumors suggest iPhone 14 will not be getting any major camera upgrades. It will likely retain the same dual rear camera setup that was seen on the iPhone 13 models. Moreover, the handset may get the same 12-megapixel sensors.</p>
<p>However, Apple may improve the camera and processing of the device with the help of some changes in the software. It may receive some camera improvements with the IOS 16 as well.</p>
<figure id="attachment_473758" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-473758" style="width: 1600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-473758" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone 14" width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/iPhone-14-Lineup-Feature-Teal-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-473758" class="wp-caption-text">Representative image</figcaption></figure>
<p>While on the front, the device is reported to receive upgraded cameras for better selfies and video calls. All in all, the camera department of the iPhone 14 will be almost similar to the last year’s model.</p>
<p>However, the iPhone 14 Pro models will be receiving some serious camera improvements this year. Apple is reportedly working on a 48-megapixel camera that can capture more detailed and high-quality photos with better control of light.</p>
<h2>iPhone 14 Expected Price</h2>
<p>There have been rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro models will see around a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/07/11/apple-iphone-14-price-hike-over-iphone-13/">$100 increase</a> in price. However, it&#8217;s unknown if the standard models will see a price hike or not. iPhone 13 was launched at a price of $799 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/08/03/iphone-14-base-model-rumored-price-iphone-13/">rumors suggest</a> the iPhone 14 will bear the same price tag.</p>
<p>The 256GB variant of the smartphone may go up to $899. The price seems fair since the device is not carrying any significant upgrades over its predecessor.</p>

However, BOE was caught changing the circuit width of the thin film transistors on the OLED panels it was manufacturing for iPhone 13. This led Apple to halt its orders. Now, as per a new report, Apple is again evaluating samples of BOE displays and may place a large-scale order.</p>
<p>According to a report by South Korea’s <a href="https://www.thelec.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=4086">The Elec</a>, this week, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> will be evaluating <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/boe">BOE</a>’s samples of OLED panels aimed for the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-14-series">iPhone 14 series</a>. And if things go right, Apple may even proceed to place a bulk order.</p>
<p>The Chinese display manufacturer is expecting to receive approval from the Cupertino company within a month, says the report. Moreover, If Apple decides to give a heads up, BOE will start mass-producing the panels for the standard iPhone 14 model sometime between July and August.</p>

<p>The Report says BOE is a few weeks behind its South Korean competitors, as Samsung Display and LG Display are likely to start the production of the iPhone 14 OLED panels at the end of this year.</p>
<p>It is also reported that BOE will supply around 5 million units at most due to its recent debacle with the panels for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/Apple-iPhone-13">iPhone 13</a>.</p>
<p>We know that Apple iPhone 14 series is going to have four models- <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/Apple-iPhone-14/">iPhone 14</a>, iPhone 14 Max, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/Apple-iPhone-14-pro">iPhone 14 Pro</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/Apple-iPhone-14-pro-max">iPhone Pro Max.</a> Apple will be replacing the mini version with a Plus/Max variant.</p>
<p>The standard iPhone 14 and 14 max will not carry many design changes. However, the Pro and Pro Max will feature a new cutout, with a hole-punch plus pill design. Also, the regular models will feature the prev-gen A14 chip whereas the Pro and Pro Max will boast the new A15 chip.</p>
<p>It will be interesting to see how Apple is going to justify the price of the regular models since they are almost the same as previous-generation iPhone 13 models.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>As per a <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2022/01/14/iphone-14-ram-120hz-displays-rumor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumors</a> report, Analyst Jeff Pu outlined that all iPhone 14 models will feature a 120Hz LTPO ProMotion display.</p>
<p>For those unaware, Apple&#8217;s ProMotion display is basically its name for the adaptive refresh rate technology. ProMotion allows the refresh rate to change from 120Hz to 10Hz depending on the content being displayed on the screen. So a static website will be played at a 10Hz refresh rate and a game at a 120Hz refresh rate. This allows for battery conservation by reducing the screen&#8217;s refresh rate when not needed.</p>
<p>Previously, Pu had also predicted that iPhone 14 Pro models would have an increased RAM of 8GB but based on supply chain sources, he has now speculated that all four iPhone 14 models will be equipped with 6GB of RAM because of the cost considerations.</p>
<p>Although this means nothing when you consider the current pro models, however, an increase to 6GB RAM would be great for standard iPhone 14 models as well as the rumored iPhone 14 max.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-437140" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-1024x628.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 14 Pro Render" width="696" height="427" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-1024x628.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-300x184.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-768x471.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-696x427.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-1068x655.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-685x420.jpeg 685w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/iPhone-14-Pro-Renders-1920x1178.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>Previous rumors have also hinted that the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro will have a pill-shaped front camera cutout instead of the wider notch to house the front-facing camera. But a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/13/apple-iphone-14-pro-dual-hole-cutout-display/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">later report</a> states that there will be two cutouts on the iPhone Pro, one pill-shaped cutout and another punch-hole cutout. These cutouts are said to house the front camera as well as the Face ID sensors.</p>
<p>Other than the screen, the iPhone 14 Pro is also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/13/apple-iphone-14-pro-again-tipped-feature-48mp-main-camera/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">expected</a> to come with a 48MP main camera sensor which will be the largest resolution sensor on an iPhone yet.</p>

<p>Apple is expected to adopt two different screen sizes for the next year&#8217;s iPhone 14 lineup, 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches. If Apple decides to stick with the same nomenclature, these could come the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/apple-iphone-14/">iPhone 14</a> and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/apple-iphone-14-max/">iPhone 14 Max</a> respectively, and further the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/apple-iphone-14-pro/">iPhone 14 Pro</a> and<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/apple-iphone-14-pro-max/"> iPhone 14 Pro Max</a>. While only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will get the new hole-punch display, other models are likely to retain the notch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-412924" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-1024x533.jpg?x44794" alt="iphone-13-inline" width="696" height="362" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-1024x533.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-300x156.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-768x400.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-696x362.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-1068x556.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured-807x420.jpg 807w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iphone-13-featured.jpg 1268w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>The next best thing to note from Kuo&#8217;s claim is that the top-end non-pro model (iPhone 14 Max) could be priced under the $900 mark. The current iPhone lineup’s “Max” only includes the 6.7-inch <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/apple-iphone-13-pro-max/">iPhone 13 Pro Max</a>, which is priced at $1,099.</p>
<p>However, Kuo no longer believes that an under-display Touch ID could feature in the upcoming iPhones, not until the second half of 2023. This is due to &#8220;lower than expected development progress&#8221;, which leaves Apple far behind its competitors. There will be a 48MP wide camera, but the images shot with the sensor will still be 12MP in resolution.</p>
<p>Apple did not live up to the hype with this year&#8217;s <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/apple-iphone-13/">iPhone 13</a> lineup as literally no major revamp was anywhere to be seen, not to mention the tech giant is already lagging behind its peers in many aspects. But it looks like Apple will finally take a leap in the coming iPhone models and present something fresh to the users.</p>
