Apple recently announced its second-generation Apple Silicon chips for the Mac devices, dubbed Apple M2, and has also launched a couple of devices powered by the new chip. Now, the company is gearing up to launch upgraded versions of the M2 chip.

Shedding more light on this, a new report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant is currently developing and testing new MacBook Pro laptops powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

The MacBook Pro models that are being developed come in two different screen sizes. One of them has a 14-inch display while the other one features a 16-inch display. The report further adds that there’s a possibility that the devices could go official later this year.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro as early as the fall of this year, but because of supply chain issues, the production could face a delay in mass production and the launch may be a bit later than what the company plans.

There were rumors about the upcoming M2 Pro and M2 Max chips being manufactured using the 3nm process, but recent reports have indicated that the company will stick to the 5nm process for the new chips. But, the company is expected to move from the N5 process of the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips to the newer N5P process by TSMC.

As of now, there’s not much information available about the upcoming Pro models of the MacBook, but it’s likely that there won’t be any major changes in terms of design, and we’ll mostly see internal upgrades for better performance.
