Both monitors boast a 1920×1080 (FHD) resolution, a choice ASRock justifies by citing its continued popularity among Steam gamers. While some might consider 1080p less cutting-edge, it allows for achieving such extreme refresh rates and remains a practical choice for maximizing frame rates in demanding titles. The monitors also feature a 1ms (GtG) response time, minimizing ghosting and blur for smooth, responsive gameplay.

The key differentiator between the two models is the inclusion of integrated Wi-Fi 7 support in the PG27FFX2A. ASRock has ingeniously incorporated a high-gain (7dBi) antenna directly into the monitor stand, promising enhanced network stability and reduced latency for online gaming. Pre-built options with Ryzen 5 8600G or Ryzen 7 8700G processors, along with RAM and storage, are available starting at 3848 yuan (approximately $573 USD).

The DeskMate X600 prioritizes both aesthetics and thermal management. The sleek chassis comes in three colors: Obsidian Black, Moonlight Silver, and Starry Gray. The durable 2mm anodized aluminum alloy shell is complemented by a strategically placed 7010 fan at the bottom for effective heat dissipation.

ASRock has introduced a new mini PC called the DeskMini B760 in Japan, priced at 34,980 Japanese yen ($233). In China, ASRock has partnered with Jiangsu Topfeel Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. to release a domestic model called the DeskMic, which is priced at 1,489 yuan ($203).

ASRock DeskMic B760 Key Features:

The DeskMic B760’s chassis combines a luxurious all-aluminum alloy material with precision CNC machining and a sandblasting plus anodizing process. It features a dual-slide design for easy assembly and disassembly.

The device is powered by ASRock’s latest B760-STX motherboard. This motherboard is compatible with Intel’s 12th to 14th-generation Core processors with up to i9-13900 and offers two DDR4 memory slots up to 64GB and two M.2 SSD slots.

Notably, one M.2 slot is compliant with the PCIe 5.0 standard, while the other supports the PCIe 4.0 standard. The motherboard also supports Wi-Fi 6 and a 120W power supply.

In terms of cooling, the DeskMic B760 incorporates a desktop-level cooling platform, ensuring efficient temperature control. This system includes two cooling fans, a CPU cooler with a 52mm height restriction, and passive chassis cooling methods.

The ASRock 4X4 BOX mini PC refresh brings the new Ryzen 7000U lineup to the devices. As we know, the 7000U is a mobile processor lineup, meaning that it is meant for low-power devices like laptops. However, considering that it is based on AMD’s Zen 3+ architecture, the power performance per watt of power is actually quite high. Apart from the new Ryzen 7000U processors, these mini PCs are among the first AMD-powered devices to offer two USB4 ports.

These mini PCs also offer support for the faster DDR5 memory standard, with two SO-DIMM slots that can accommodate up to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM. The AMD Zen 4 APUs along with the 600-series motherboards and 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake processors with 700-series motherboards have already launched in the markets. These new chips are expected to make their way to mini PCs soon, as brands are expected to unveil new models equipped with these processors at CES next month.

It appears that Asus might be one of the first OEMs to introduce a mini PC with the latest-gen hardware, as Twitter user Harukaze5719 has spotted new listings in the EEC database that indicates the brand is planning to launch DeskMini and DeskMeet variants with support for AMD’s Zen 4 chips, as well as Intel’s Gen 13 processors.

The AMD models have the suffix X600, while the Intel models have the suffix B760. B/BB most likely refers to barebones systems with no RAM or storage, whereas BOX refers to fully-featured systems.

It is evident from the B760 mention that the models will incorporate mini-ITX motherboards with the B760 chipset, which will debut in early January. There are rumors that this will have 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes and 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes. However, there is some ambiguity regarding AMD’s X600 motherboards. The name implies the presence of an X670 chipset, which offers 4 PCIe 5.0 lanes for NVMe storage solutions but no PCI 5.0 lanes for a discrete GPU.

DeskMini and DeskMeet models from ASRock have previously only been available with 65 W TDP processors. The most recent desktop-grade processors from AMD and Intel would be too powerful if ASRock is to maintain this limit on the next models since AMD has a 105 W minimum TDP and Intel has a 125 W minimum. In this situation, only mobile processors would be compatible with mini PC models. More information on the matter is expected to be revealed in the coming days, so stay tuned.
