<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/microsoft/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft</a> announced a new bug bounty program on Thursday that will reward security researchers for finding and reporting vulnerabilities in its AI-powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/01/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bing </a>services and apps. The program will offer bounties ranging from $2,000 to $15,000, with the highest rewards reserved for the most critical vulnerabilities.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="Microsoft Bing AI bug bounty program" class="wp-image-574776" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Microsoft-Bing-AI-bug-bounty-program.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The new program is part of Microsoft&#8217;s ongoing efforts to improve the security of its AI systems. The company has been investing heavily in AI security research in recent years, and it believes that the bug bounty program will help to identify and fix vulnerabilities that might otherwise be missed.</p>

<p>The program is open to all security researchers, regardless of experience or location. Researchers can submit their findings through the <a href="https://msrc.microsoft.com/report/vulnerability/new" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft Security Research Center (MSRC) portal</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" /></figure></div>

<p>The following AI-powered Bing services are currently in scope for the bug bounty program:</p>

<div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;">
• AI-powered Bing experiences on bing.com in Browser (All major vendors are supported, including Bing Chat, Bing Chat for Enterprise, and Bing Image Creator)<br />
• AI-powered Bing integration in Microsoft Edge (Windows), including Bing Chat for Enterprise<br />
• AI-powered Bing integration in the Microsoft Start Application (iOS and Android) <br />
• AI-powered Bing integration in the Skype Mobile Application (iOS and Android)<br />
</div></div>

<p>Microsoft also detailed eligibility criteria for bug submissions. To qualify for a bounty, developers must report a bug that is new to Microsoft and has a critical or important severity rating. They must also provide specific steps to recreate the bug.</p>

<p>In the past year, Microsoft has paid out over $13 million in bounties to security researchers who have found vulnerabilities in its products and services. The highest single bounty paid out was $200,000. </p>

<p>The excitement around AI is growing rapidly, as evidenced by the popularity of features like ChatGPT, which have taken over the tech industry by storm. The majority of existing tools have incorporated AI over the past few months for a faster and more efficient experience. Microsoft&#8217;s Edge browser appears to be moving in this direction as well, with the addition of a new text rewriting feature borrowed from another Microsoft product, SwiftKey. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/IXmdPJ3LegslNYa9VKb0PyunkL4N1hBaqA5EPJHlluz9noTdfMiZljEVe7lEDtUcXpOSs3oibozZ3_srwe365iK5DzjFerO6x2dQUIyQCoAyjHUJ67zSZ5MQxSiYR0ZsFZF1TasXnVEOrgwj6ysl40A" alt="" width="-80" height="-85"/></figure></div>

<p>A recent Tweet by <a href="https://twitter.com/Leopeva64/status/1687519473606033409">Leopeva64</a>, who discovered a new option to rewrite a text in Microsoft Edge with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/07/24/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers/">Bing AI</a>, confirms that this feature will soon be available for desktop users as well.<br><br><strong>Features of the new Bing Rewriting Tool</strong></p>

<ol><li><strong>Rewrite Text Selection:</strong> A GIF shared in the tweet reveals that the selected text will come with an option to rewrite and replace.</li><li><strong>Tone:</strong> The “Adjust” button will allow users to select the Tone of the text for example casual and professional etc.</li><li><strong>Format: </strong>There is also an option for changing Format, which will allow users to rearrange the text in a paragraph, email, or blog.</li><li><strong>Length: </strong>Lastly the selected text length can be rearranged as short, medium, and long.</li></ol>

<p>After you have made the adjustments, you can simply select the “Rewrite” button, and the text will be readjusted.<br><br>One thing to note is that this feature is currently in its testing phase; not everyone will have access to the “Ask Bing AI” option. But few desktop browsers have allowed <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/07/24/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers/">Bing AI to be available in their toolbar</a>, such as Google Chrome and Safari.<br><br><br><br><a href="https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-edge-will-let-you-rewrite-text-using-bing-ai/"><br><br></a><strong>Related:</strong></p>

Currently, OpenAI&#8217;s ChatGPT is leading in this field. However, Google&#8217;s Bard and Microsoft&#8217;s Bing AI are slowly closing the gap. Moreover, Microsoft has recently made a big move to attract more users by making Bing AI available on all web browsers, including Google Chrome and Apple Safari. [&#8230;]</p>

<p>Artificial intelligence is taking the internet by storm. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Microsoft Opens Up Bing AI to All Web Browsers, with Some Limitations</strong></h2>

<p>Microsoft recently made <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/28/windows-11-major-overhaul-bing-tabs-notepad/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bing AI available to Windows 11 users</a>. However, alternative browser users, such as those on Mac and Chrome OS, were previously deprived of this AI model. Fortunately, the company has finally started rolling out Bing.com AI support to all browsers, including Google Chrome and Apple&#8217;s Safari. For example, if you use Safari on your MacBook, you can access Bing AI through your browser by <a href="https://www.bing.com/?toWww=1&amp;redig=D71A0FE8666249DEB89F2E3D67AE2153" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">clicking here</a> without downloading or installing anything.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-553396" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bing-ai-google-chrome-safari-browsers-1.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>However, this does not mean that you will have the same experience as a Windows 11 user. Microsoft understandably sees other browsers as secondary platforms, and has imposed some restrictions on this version of Bing AI. For example, the chat feature is limited to five messages per conversation, and the character count is limited to 2,000. Additionally, Microsoft keeps showing a &#8220;Start exploring in Edge&#8221; pop-up when you open Bing.com&#8217;s AI in Chrome. If you are happy with your browser, as I am, these limits will get in your way.</p>

<p>Still, 2,000 characters is not a limit to be underestimated. If you ask the right questions, five messages in a single chat are more than enough. Of course, if you find that insufficient, you can download Edge for an unlimited Bing AI experience, or you can browse alternatives. Moreover, this is not Microsoft&#8217;s only surprise.</p>

<h3><strong>Bing AI Goes &#8220;No Search&#8221;: What Does This Mean for the Future of Search?</strong></h3>

<p>As you know, Bing AI actually behaves more like an advanced search engine than a chatbot. However, this is about to change, as Microsoft is also working on a new feature for Bing AI called &#8220;No search&#8221; mode. Currently, Bing AI searches the web whenever you ask it a question. This can sometimes be slow, as Bing has to crawl multiple websites and summarize the answer from scrapped content. With &#8220;No search&#8221; support, Bing could behave more like ChatGPT and respond to users using its AI capabilities, rather than crawling the web.</p>

<p>This is actually a very important feature, but it also carries some risks. One of the most important risks is that the concept of search is in danger. As you know, the reason I am writing this article right now is because you are reading it and making money for the platform through ad display. If search disappears and everyone controls everything they are curious about through platforms like Bing AI, we may not be needed. In this case, artificial intelligence cannot obtain new information because no content is produced. Of course, companies like Microsoft and Google can provide this information. However, this would create a monopoly on an important issue such as information.</p>

<p>Obviously, it is very difficult to say which of the scenarios we have mentioned above is real, especially in the near future. However, the internet seems to be undergoing a radical change in the next few years.</p>

<p>AI technologies keep growing and becoming more common. While people expect Google to make a big move in the AI market led by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/24/openai-chatgpt-browse-web/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OpenAI</a>, Microsoft is the company catching up the fastest. Those who follow tech news aren&#8217;t surprised because Microsoft has been working on AI technologies for a while. Therefore, we are not surprised that Bing Chat has reached this point so quickly. It seems that the company is satisfied with its progress and is preparing to take the situation a few steps further, as Microsoft unveils third-party plugin support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/01/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bing</a> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/01/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI</a>. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Developers Embrace New Opportunities as Microsoft Introduces Third-Party Plugins for Bing AI</strong></h2>

<p>Many people use artificial intelligence chatbots to simplify their daily tasks or for entertainment purposes, but their potential goes far beyond that. Moreover, when you add third-party plugin support to this potential, we can say that the sky is the limit. Microsoft did exactly that with Bing AI. The company announced upcoming features and enhancements to Bing Chat aimed at providing an improved user experience. One of the most significant updates is the introduction of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/11/bing-chat-third-party-plugins/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">third-party plugin support</a>. So, what is third-party plugin support?</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Bing AI chatbot" class="wp-image-534666" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-third-party-plugin-support-bing-ai.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Third-party plugin support in AI chatbots enables the incorporation of additional features and tools created by independent developers. By integrating these plugins, chatbot platforms can expand their capabilities, offer better services, and interact with various systems. This not only helps chatbot creators meet the unique needs of their users but also encourages developers to contribute to the community by developing creative and specialized solutions.</p>

<p>Microsoft is working closely with OpenAI to develop a seamless and consistent process for building plugins compatible with both ChatGPT and Bing AI. In addition to third-party plugin support, Microsoft announced new features for Bing Chat, such as upgraded visual capabilities with graphs, charts, and more visually appealing answers. Furthermore, Bing Chat will be better integrated with Microsoft Edge, with the Bing website now able to transfer users to Edge when navigating outside the Chat interface. This is made possible by the new ability to remember chat history across sessions.</p>

<p>Artificial intelligence technologies continue to take the internet by storm. A wide range of individuals, from high school and university students to engineers at tech giants, use these tools for cheating or boosting productivity. However, the extensive use of AI also raises security concerns. Chatbots may potentially leak user information, which has led to some bans. For example, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/30/chatgpt-returns-italy-addressing-data-privacy-concerns/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Italy banned ChatGPT</a> a while ago, and the service was unavailable in the country for several days. Samsung has now implemented a similar ban, reportedly prohibiting its employees from using generative AI tools like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/chatgpt/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ChatGPT</a>, Google Bard, and Bing due to security concerns. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Samsung Temporarily Restricts Use of AI Tools After Security Breach</strong></h2>

<p>The tension between tech companies and artificial intelligence technologies continues. A while ago, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/04/samsungs-chatgpt-backfires-leaks-confidential-data/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung experienced a data leak</a> as a result of some engineers giving confidential information to ChatGPT. Samsung found the solution in imposing comprehensive bans. The tech giant issued a statement to all employees, announcing the ban on popular generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Bing. The bans will be effective starting Monday, and AI tools cannot be accessed using company-owned devices such as computers, tablets, and phones.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-534198" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/samsung-reportedly-bans-use-of-ai-tools-1.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>However, it would not be entirely accurate to say that Samsung is against artificial intelligence technologies. The company is aware that products like ChatGPT can also be used to escape menial tasks and increase productivity. In its statement on the issue, the company said, &#8220;HQ is reviewing security measures to create a secure environment for safely using generative AI to enhance employees&#8217; productivity and efficiency. However, until these measures are prepared, we are temporarily restricting the use of generative AI.&#8221;</p>

<p>Unfortunately, ChatGPT and other AI chatbots are a real security concern. With so many people using them, it makes some products more attractive to hackers. That&#8217;s why both OpenAI and other developers are continuing their work to address security issues.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung-galaxy/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung Galaxy</a> device users can now enjoy the latest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/bing-ai/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bing AI</a> feature from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/swiftkey/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft SwiftKey</a>, which is rolling out gradually with version 9.10.11.10. The Bing AI update was initially released for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ios/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iOS</a> and Android devices in mid-April, and it is now available on Samsung&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">One UI</a>.</p>

<h2>Ways of using Bing AI on your SwiftKey Keyboard</h2>

<p>This integration means that Bing AI is pre-installed on virtually every Galaxy device with SwiftKey, and users can access it through three primary ways: Search, Chat, and Tone.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="557" height="540" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Samsung-Galaxy-SwiftKey-Bing-AI.jpeg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy SwiftKey Bing AI" class="wp-image-534041" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Samsung-Galaxy-SwiftKey-Bing-AI.jpeg 557w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Samsung-Galaxy-SwiftKey-Bing-AI-300x291.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Samsung-Galaxy-SwiftKey-Bing-AI-433x420.jpeg 433w" sizes="(max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px" /></figure></div>

<p>With Bing AI Search, users can search the web quickly without leaving the keyboard app. The Chat feature allows for more detailed queries and chat suggestions, while Tone helps users customize their text to fit the situation by adjusting the tone and formality of their messages. These features offer a significant upgrade to the SwiftKey keyboard and provide users with an enhanced typing experience.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> is reportedly considering replacing Google&#8217;s search engine with Bing as the default option on its Galaxy devices. While this move may have some implications due to potential repercussions regarding Android OS licenses. As the competition between tech giants heats up, it is likely that AI-driven features and services will play an increasingly significant role in enhancing user experiences.</p>

<p>Overall, the rollout of Bing AI to Samsung Galaxy devices is a positive development for users who want to stay on top of the latest tech trends. With SwiftKey and Bing AI now embedded in One UI, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> has effectively made the advanced AI tool available to millions of users worldwide. As <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ai/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI</a> continues to evolve, it is clear that the mobile device industry will keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible with these cutting-edge technologies.</p>

<p>Artificial intelligence technologies continue to take the internet by storm. The growing popularity of AI not only poses a threat to Google&#8217;s dominance but also raises security concerns in EU countries due to the information it provides. In the midst of this disruption, Microsoft has identified an opportunity and announced the development of Bing AI, a potential rival to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/chatgpt/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ChatGPT</a>. Most recently, the company unveiled plans to integrate Bing AI into the right-click menu of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/microsoft/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft</a> Edge for Windows 11. Read on to learn more about this innovative integration and its implications for the future of browsing.</p>

<h2><strong>Microsoft Edge for Windows 11 is integrating Bing AI</strong></h2>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/22/microsoft-introduces-bing-image-creator/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft recently introduced Bing AI</a>, an AI chatbot similar to ChatGPT. Now, the company is integrating AI into its right-click menu. This update allows users to select text on a webpage, choose &#8220;Search with Bing AI&#8221; from the Mini menu, and instantly open Bing Chat on the right side of their screen. Bing AI then provides comprehensive information related to the chosen text.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="537" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-1024x537.jpeg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-533956" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-1024x537.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-300x157.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-768x403.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-696x365.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-1068x560.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu-800x420.jpeg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/microsoft-edge-bing-ai-right-click-menu.jpeg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>If users accidentally click the option, they can select &#8220;Ignore&#8221; to return to the webpage. The Mini menu is only available when text is highlighted; right-clicking without selecting text will display the standard context menu. In addition to the upgraded Bing AI integration, Microsoft Edge is introducing modular optional features support and other improvements to further optimize the user experience.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, it is unclear how popular these and other improvements will make Microsoft&#8217;s services. The company has long been lagging behind Google Chrome in terms of search engines and browsers. Although some of its moves have led to positive developments in addressing this issue, it is still far from being the leader.</p>

<p><a href="https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2023/02/28/introducing-a-big-update-to-windows-11-making-the-everyday-easier-including-bringing-the-new-ai-powered-bing-to-the-taskbar/">Microsoft has announced today</a> a major update to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11/">Windows 11</a> that the company claims will make the everyday routine easier for users. The update includes several new features and improvements that will roll out gradually to Windows 11 devices starting from February 28.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="854" height="480" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bing-in-Windows-11-Taskbar.jpeg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-519216" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bing-in-Windows-11-Taskbar.jpeg 854w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bing-in-Windows-11-Taskbar-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bing-in-Windows-11-Taskbar-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bing-in-Windows-11-Taskbar-696x391.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bing-in-Windows-11-Taskbar-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 854px) 100vw, 854px" /><figcaption>The New Bing on the Windows 11 Taskbar, Source: Microsoft</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>One of the most exciting features is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/23/bings-chatgpt-ios-android-skype-new-voice-functionality/">new AI-powered Bing Chat</a> that will be integrated into the Windows taskbar. Users can simply click on the Search in the taskbar and start chatting with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/bing/">Bing</a> in their preferred language. Bing can help users with various tasks such as searching the web, getting directions, booking flights, generating content and more. Users can also ask Bing questions about Windows 11 or any other topic and get informative and engaging answers. The new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/bing/">Bing</a> chat is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 large language model equipped with advanced natural language processing and machine learning technologies that enable Bing to understand and communicate fluently with Windows users.</p>

<p>Another feature that will surprise many users is the tabs in Notepad? Seriously? Well, Notepad is one of the oldest and most popular apps in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11/">Windows</a>, but it lacked some more modern functionalities such as tabs, cleaner organisation and dark mode. With the update, it seems that Notepad will finally get these features and more. Users can now open multiple files in tabs within Notepad, switch between them easily, save their work automatically and choose between light or dark themes.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-1024x640.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-519217" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-1024x640.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-300x188.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-768x480.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-1536x960.webp 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-696x435.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-1068x668.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad-672x420.webp 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabs-in-Notepad.webp 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Tabs in Notepad, Source: Microsoft</figcaption></figure>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11/">Windows 11</a> update also brings a new screen recording feature to Snipping Tool. Snipping Tool is a handy app that lets users capture screenshots of their screen or a specific area. With the update, users can also record a video of their screen or a specific area with audio and annotations. The feature looks like it can be useful for creating tutorials, presentations or sharing feedback.</p>

<p>Other features that are part of the update include:</p>

<ul><li>A new power management feature that can help users save energy by adjusting their device’s performance based on their usage patterns.</li><li>New energy recommendations in system settings to make it easier for users to control their environmental impact.</li><li>A new design language for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11/">Windows 11</a> apps that will make them more consistent, modern and beautiful across devices.</li><li>New accessibility features such as Braille display support and enhanced voice access in key apps</li><li>New touchscreen navigation controls for touch devices such as tablets, and 2-in-1s</li><li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/28/windows-11-iphone-to-pc/">Phone Link for iPhones</a> so users can see their iPhone’s notifications on their PC’s Action Center (Windows Insiders only)</li></ul>

<p>The update is expected to be available for all <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11/">Windows 11</a> devices starting March 2023. For users who want to try out the new AI-powered Bing, you can sign up for the waitlist to join the new Bing preview <a href="https://www.bing.com/new"><strong>here.</strong></a></p>

<p>If you are already in the Bing preview, then you just need to update your Windows 11 build to the latest build. You can do so by opening Windows Update settings (Settings &gt; Windows Update) and selecting Check for updates.</p>
