Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 14 update, accompanied by its One UI 6 interface, to the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A23 4G, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022). These updates introduce new features and improvements, primarily focused on user interface enhancements and functionality upgrades.

For Galaxy A23 4G users, the update arrives with the November 2023 security patch and firmware versions A235FXXU4DWL1 (Russia) or A235MUBU4DWL1 (Panama). The South Korean version, SM-A235N, is currently not included in the rollout.

Galaxy A52 owners will receive the update with firmware ending in EWL3 and the December 2023 security patch. The update size is approximately 2.2GB, and its arrival might be staggered across regions, so patience is key. 

As for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022), the tablet is receiving Android 14 with firmware P613XXU4CWL1 but retains the November 2023 security patch instead of the latest January 2024 version. The update is currently available in France and some other European countries, with a wider rollout expected soon.

To check for the update on your A52 or A23 4G or on the tablet, head to the phone’s Settings menu, tap on “Software update,” and select “Download and install.” 

One UI 6 introduces several noticeable changes. The Quick Panel has been redesigned for easier access to frequently used settings, while a new font refreshes the overall visual experience. Music lovers can enjoy a new media player widget for a lock screen and notification control.

Customization takes center stage with more font and placement options for the lock screen clock widget. And there are two new widgets — “Custom Camera” for quick access to camera settings and “Weather Insights” for detailed weather information.

The Settings app has also gone a makeover, featuring a dedicated Battery section for easier navigation. The camera is now simplified for easier use and the Photo Editor app now has larger controls for easy accessibility.

The weather app now presents even more detailed information about your favorite locations, all wrapped up in a cohesive new design. Finally, Samsung has decluttered the app drawer and home screen by removing its branding from stock app icons.

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A13 4G and Galaxy A23 4G in the Indian market. The phones come with a Full-HD+ display and have a quad-camera system. Both phones come in the sub-Rs. 20,000(~$267) segment in the market and will compete against the likes of Redmi, Realme, Oppo, and Vivo.

Samsung Galaxy A13 4G, Galaxy A23 4G – Price, Colors, and Specifications 

The Samsung Galaxy A13 4G starts at Rs. 14,999(~$197) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs. 15,999(~$210) for the 4GB RAM +128GB storage variant, and Rs. 17,499(~$229) for the 6GB RAM+ 128GB storage.

The Samsung Galaxy A23 4G is priced at Rs. 19,499(~$256) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs Rs. 20,999(~$275). Both phones come in three color variants – Black, Blue, Peach, and White.

The duo comes with a 6.6-inch TFT LCD display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It is a water-drop notch with an exact resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels. Both come with an 8MP front camera for selfies and a quad-camera at the rear. The rear setup goes by a 50MP main lens, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and two 2MP snappers for depth and macro shots. The 50MP sensor on the A23 4G supports OIS.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A13 4G is powered by the Exynos 850 SoC, while the Galaxy A23 4G packs a Snapdragon 680 SoC. The A13 4G has 4GB, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB, 128GB of internal storage. On the hand, the A23 4G has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Both pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging technology. However, the phones are bundled with a 15W fast charger in the box. The phones feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security. The 4G phones have dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth support. The duo runs on Android 12 out of the box and has OneUI 4.1 on top of it.

As the hype for the latest Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship series cools down, Samsung is right on schedule to release its best-selling Galaxy A series to the market in 2022 as well. Today, Samsung officially unveiled its brand new entry-level smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G and A23 4G to the public.

Let’s start with the highlights. Both the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G and A23 4G feature enhanced durability with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the front display(the same one used on the Galaxy Note 9), a long-lasting 5000mAh battery, faster 25W charging support compared to last year’s 15W, and upgraded cameras.

Samsung Galaxy A13 4G

Despite bearing a similar name to the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G launched last year, besides the connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G actually has upgraded internals compared to the A13 5G.

The Samsung Galaxy A13 features a 6.6” FHD+ TFT LCD display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Powering the phone is a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support and an unnamed octa-core processor (2.2GHz + 2GHz) under the hood(though previous Geekbench listings showed that the device was running on an Exynos 850). The device runs on Samsung’s latest One UI 4.1 based on Android 12.

For the back, the Samsung Galaxy A13 features a quad-camera setup with a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro and depth sensors. The selfie camera houses an 8MP f/2.2 unit. 

The device weighs 195g, with dimensions of 165.1 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm and its housing is made of Samsung’s polycarbonate “glasstic” material. The phone comes in 4 pastel colours which are blue, peach, white and black.

It is available to be purchased in 3/4/6GB RAM + 32/64/128GB configurations.

Samsung Galaxy A23 4G

The Samsung Galaxy A23 is the successor to last year’s Samsung Galaxy A22. The big difference between it and its predecessor is the screen. Where the Samsung Galaxy A22 featured a 6.4” 60Hz HD+ AMOLED panel, the Samsung Galaxy A23 comes with a 6.6” 60Hz FHD+ TFT LCD panel. 

Under the hood, the device runs on an unnamed octa-core processor with a base clock of 1.9GHz and a boost clock of 2.4GHz(Recent certifications mention the device running a Snapdragon 680). Keeping the lights on are its 5000mAh with upgraded 25W USB-C super fast charging support. The device runs on Samsung’s latest One UI 4.1 based on Android 12.

The device sports a quad-camera setup with a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro and depth sensors. The selfie camera houses an 8MP f/2.2 unit. You’ll find the fingerprint scanner on the power button to your right and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

Samsung mentions that the availability of both the Samsung Galaxy A13 and A23 devices will be rolled out gradually across global markets in 2022, and RAM and storage configurations may differ between countries and regions across the globe.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A23 4G smartphone soon in different markets. The device was previously spotted on Geekbench revealing its internals, and now, the phone was seen officially listed online.

The Samsung Galaxy A23 4G is currently up on the Samsung Russia website. The device has the model number SM-A235F/DSN. Unfortunately, there’s no detail to look forward to. But we do know that it will be a dual-SIM smartphone since it has the DS in its model number revealing its dual-SIM functionality.

In addition to this, the smartphone was also spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification site. It has the model number SM-A235N and supports Bluetooth v5. Again, there’s nothing to discuss here.

The Samsung Galaxy A23 will come in two variants 4G only and the 5G model. The 4G model with model number SM-A235F was spotted on the Geekbench version 5 recently. The device scored 382 single-core points and 1612 multi-core points.

The smartphone is believed to have a Snapdragon 680 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. We expect it to have 64GB or 128GB of base storage and more possible RAM variants. The device will run on Android 12 out of the box.

On the other hand, the Galaxy A23 5G was seen in CAD renders. The device has a 6.6-inch display and features a quad-camera setup. The primary camera on the phone will be a 50MP sensor. The device will have a side-facing fingerprint scanner for security.
