The same model number along with its dual SIM variant has been also found listed on the support page of Samsung’s South African website. Speculations have it that it could be the successor of the Galaxy J2 Pro (2016) that was released in July last year.

According to Geekbench listing, the SM-J250F is running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The msm8937 chipset that is driving the smartphone is the Snapdragon 430. The SoC is coupled with 2 GB of RAM. On single-core test, it has scored 656 and on multi-core test, it has recorded 1852.

Previous reports have revealed that it features 32 GB of native storage and a removable battery, which is a rarity these days. However, the exact size of the battery is not known.

In the previous month, a Samsung phone with model number SM-J250G had appeared on GFXBench benchmarking site in the previous month. It had revealed that the smartphone features a 5-inch display that supports a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and is powered by Snapdragon 425. It has 16 GB of storage and 1.5 GB of RAM. It only carries support for single-SIM.

The rumored Galaxy J2 Pro (2017) is expected to feature the same round-shaped Smart Glow LED around the main camera that is available on the predecessor phone. The Smart Glow ring can light up to alert users on incoming SMS, emails, phone calls and so on.

The arrival of the SM-J250F seems to be close at hand as the smartphone has been certified by FCC and Bluetooth SIG earlier in this month. This suggests that the alleged Galaxy J2 Pro (2017) may launch in time for the upcoming holiday season. It is likely to be aimed towards Europe and select markets in Asia.
