While we have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/08/huawei-p40-series-launched-in-china-starts-at-e545/">already seen P40 series</a> smartphone getting launched recently, the next-generation Mate series phones will be launched in the second half of the year.</p>
<p>But with the advancement going on a rapid pace, Huawei is reportedly considering to make a strategic change and &#8220;resurrect&#8221; the Mate S product line. As per the report, the Chinese company is planning to launch a new Mate-series premium smartphone next month which will be different from the Mate 40 lineup.</p>

<p>While nothing much is known about the smartphone in question, it is said that the phone will be the successor of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/01/exclusive-huawei-mate-s-hands-on/">Huawei Mate S</a>. As said, the device is expected to get launched in China as soon as next month.</p>
<p>For the uninitiated, the Huawei Mate S flagship smartphone was launched in September 2015, featuring an all-metal body and top-of-the-line specifications at the time. As for its successor, the phone will reportedly come with several of the company&#8217;s own technology, but details about the same remains unknown.</p>

<p>Similar to other premium devices from the company, we expect the upcoming smartphone to be powered by Huawei&#8217;s own Kirin chipset. It could be powered by a new chipset which falls somewhere between <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/06/huawei-announces-the-flagship-kirin-990-and-kirin-990-5g-feature-up-to-2-3gbps-download-speeds/">Kirin 990 5G</a> and upcoming Kirin 1020. However, this is just a speculation and there&#8217;s no information available at this point in time.</p>
<p>Given that the Chinese company has Huawei Mate40 series flagship smartphone in the pipeline to launch later this year, it remains to be seen how the company positions the upcoming Mate device. As per the reports, the Mate 40 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/09/huawei-mate-40-to-feature-kirin-1020-and-freeform-lens-technology-ming-chi-kuo/">will be powered by Kirin 1020 SoC</a> and FreeFrom Lens technology.</p>
<p>Although there are two major flagship lineups of Huawei with P-series and Mate-series, the company recently launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/foldable-smartphone">foldable smartphone</a> lineup under the Mate branding, dubbed as Huawei Mate X and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/05/huawei-mate-xs-sale-china/">Mate Xs</a>. Apart from the Mate40 series, the company is also set to launch another foldable smartphone this year which will be the successor of the Mate X, likely to be called Huawei Mate X2.</p>

Although initially, not everyone was convinced that a super sized smartphone was the solution to all problems, the tremendous success of the large screen phones like the Samsung Galaxy Note series and the iPhone 6 Plus just proves this point. We have seen the number of phablets increase in the past couple of years, and it is said that the figure is only going to increase further in the coming years. So, its not surprising that almost every manufacturer has a phablet in their smartphone lineup.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-feature1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59618" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-feature1.jpg?x10805" alt="mate-s-feature" width="647" height="404" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-feature1.jpg 647w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-feature1-300x187.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-feature1-640x400.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px" /></a></p>
<p>A few months back, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/02/02/huawei-focus-high-end-market-2015/">Yu Chengdong the CEO of Huawei said that the company aimed big</a>, and was looking to compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple. Unlike other Chinese manufacturers who are competing to get a share of the mid-range and low-end market, Huawei has already said that it aims to take a piece of the premium segment. The recently announced Huawei Mate S does confirm the company&#8217;s intentions, but a new leak reveals that the company is preparing itself for something even bigger.</p>
<p>According to a report from South Korea, Huawei is said to be working on a new phablet that would directly compete with Samsung&#8217;s Galaxy Note 5 flagship. What&#8217;s more, since the display size is going to be big, Huawei is reportedly talking with different stylus manufacturers for its new phone. In fact, this Chinese company is said to have already contacted Wacom for developing the stylus for its new device, but due to reasons unmentioned in the report, the deal didn&#8217;t quite work out. So, Huawei seems to have partnered with another Stylus manufacturer for competing with Wacom&#8217;s products. While there could be many reasons for the deal not working out with Wacom, the fact that Samsung owns a piece of the company could have affected the decision.</p>
<p>Anyways, we can see that Huawei is slowly and steadily making its mark in the premium segment. The Huawei Mate S is a worthy device and this Samsung Galaxy Note competitor, (is it the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/11/huawei-mate-8-possible-specs-2k-display-20-7mp-camera/">rumored Huawei Mate 8</a>?) with a stylus could be another hit too. For this to work out, the new Huawei device should be powerful (Kirin 950?) as well as feature rich.</p>
<p>Since we have very little information about this new flagship, lets wait and watch what Huawei has in store for us in the coming months.</p>

Thank to the numerous leaks in the past couple of weeks, we knew a lot about the device before its launch. And most of the specs are in line with what we expected.</p>

<p>The highlight of the Huawei Mate S flagship will be its Force Touch screen. The force touch makes it easier to carry out additional tasks on the device like zooming in and zooming out. The tech allows the device to recognize how hard the user has touched the screen. This coupled with the Knuckle Control 2.0 will make open up new ways to interact with the smartphone. In case you remember, the Knuckle Touch was first introduced in Huawei P8 flagship a few months back. Recently, we could also<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/17/qeexo-the-company-behind-huaweis-knuckle-sense-will-revolutionize-our-touch-screen-experience/"> interview the startup behind Qeexo, you can check that out here</a>.</p>

<p>Coming back to the Mate S, the phone will feature the second generation version of the software now aptly called as the Knuckle Control 2.0 This will offer new features such as activating an app with knuckle gestures. For example, users can draw the letter &#8216;C&#8217; with their Knuckle to open up the camera. Similarly, other gestures perform other functions.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57968" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2.jpg?x10805" alt="mate s fingerprint 2" width="1023" height="341" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2.jpg 1023w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2-300x100.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2-640x213.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2-681x227.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-fingerprint-2-1021x341.jpg 1021w" sizes="(max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px" /></a></p>
<p>Coming to the fingerprint sensor, the Huawei Mate S will feature the new Fingerprint 2.0. Remember the sensor on the Mate 7, which is still considered as one of the best in the market. Huawei claims that this is an improved second generation version which increases the recognition speeds by 100 percent! The sensor comes with more accurate self-learning functions and can control various aspects of the UI. For example, you can double click to erase notifications, slide to preview pictures and hold to take phone calls.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57966" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY.jpg?x10805" alt="mATE S CURVED BODY" width="1023" height="341" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY.jpg 1023w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY-300x100.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY-640x213.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY-681x227.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mATE-S-CURVED-BODY-1021x341.jpg 1021w" sizes="(max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mate S will feature a 5.5-inch FULL HD ONCELL display with 2.5D floating screen lens. The edges will be curved with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Like the Mate 7, the company has made sure the bezels are thin, measuring just 2.65mm. The overall designed is a bit curved at the back, which the company claims helps in the ergonomics. For this, the company had to use a specially designed circuit as well as a battery. The phone&#8217;s all metal design is further made premium by CNC carving, and diamond cutting. What&#8217;s even more interesting is that the phone has nano coating which makes it water resistant.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57971" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs.jpg?x10805" alt="mate s camera specs" width="1023" height="341" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs.jpg 1023w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs-300x100.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs-640x213.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs-681x227.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/mate-s-camera-specs-1021x341.jpg 1021w" sizes="(max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the specs, the Huawei Mate S will come with the same Kirin 935 octa-core chip that we saw in the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/30/huawei-honor-7-is-official-with-5-2-inch-1080p-display-kirin-935-fingerprint-id/">Honor 7</a>. There&#8217;s 3GB of RAM on board along with 32GB of storage. At the back, you get a RGBW 13MP sensor with dual color temperature LED flash and OIS. The setup is similar to the P8 flagship. Up front, there&#8217;s an 8MP shooter.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57975" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Mate S fast charge" width="1023" height="341" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge.jpg 1023w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge-300x100.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge-640x213.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge-681x227.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-fast-charge-1021x341.jpg 1021w" sizes="(max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px" /></a></p>
<p>Under the hood, there will be a 2,700mAh battery, which is smaller than the one used on the previous generation Mate 7. However, the company assures that this should be enough for more than a day&#8217;s usage. Also, the phone supports fast charging which means just 10 minutes of charging can give you about 2 hours of talktime. As for the software, the phone will run on Android 5.1.1 based EMUI 3.1.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57976" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Mate S availability" width="1023" height="341" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability.jpg 1023w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability-300x100.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability-640x213.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability-681x227.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Huawei-Mate-S-availability-1021x341.jpg 1021w" sizes="(max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px" /></a></p>
<p>The phone will be available in a number of countries worldwide. You can check out the list from the image above. As for the pricing, the Huawei Mate S won&#8217;t be cheap. For all these high-end tech, the standard flagship model will cost you 649 Euros or $729 and the high-end model with 64GB storage will cost you 699Euros or $786. That&#8217;s in the range of the iPhones and Samsung Galaxy series. So, it would be interesting to see whether customers go with Huawei instead of the these two manufacturers. The Mate S will be available to buy from the company&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.vmall.eu/uk/" target="_blank">VMall store</a> in Europe for the above mentioned prices. The phone will be launched in four colors, gold, champagne, pink and grey.</p>

<p>One of the biggest tech events of the year is here and its time almost all major manufacturers show off what they have in store for their fans. Even Huawei will be present at the IFA event and we expect at least two major announcements at the conference which will be held later today. For those who couldn&#8217;t be present at the event, Huawei is live streaming the event.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/fashion-touches-tech-huawei-02.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57956" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/fashion-touches-tech-huawei-02.png?x10805" alt="fashion touches tech huawei 02" width="609" height="326" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/fashion-touches-tech-huawei-02.png 609w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/fashion-touches-tech-huawei-02-300x160.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 609px) 100vw, 609px" /></a></p>
<p>You can watch the Huawei IFA Berlin 2015 event from <a href="http://www.fashiontouchestechnology.com/" target="_blank">fashiontouchestechnology.com</a>. This is the dedicated page for live streaming the event which will start at 2PM Berlin time. At the time of publishing this article, there was more than 1.5 hours left for the live stream to begin, so you can tune into the event stream by that time.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/4ec7ad199f15f83.jpeg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57898" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/4ec7ad199f15f83.jpeg?x10805" alt="huawei mate s" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/4ec7ad199f15f83.jpeg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/4ec7ad199f15f83-300x200.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>We have already got an exclusive hands on with the device, which in my personal opinion looked beautiful. Thanks to the numerous other leaks, we already have a pretty good idea about what to expect from the event and the <strong>Huawei Mate S</strong>, including the force touch technology. The company is also expected to release more details such as pricing and availability about its <strong>Huawei Watch</strong> which was shown off as early as MWC in February. But till now, the watch wasn&#8217;t available for purchase. That&#8217;s probably going to change after the event today.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-42666" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0" width="1020" height="482" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0.jpg 1020w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0-300x142.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0-889x420.jpg 889w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0-640x302.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/huawei-watch-images-leak5_1020.0-681x322.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1020px) 100vw, 1020px" /></a></p>
<p>Huawei is also reportedly making the next Nexus device. While its unlikely that the company will show the device at IFA, we may see a few teasers or at least some information about the new partnership with Google this year.</p>
<p>Anyways, the event is definitely going to be exciting, particularly because the Mate S flagship is expected to be the first smartphone with the innovative Force Touch display. So, tune into the live stream from the <a href="http://www.fashiontouchestechnology.com/" target="_blank">link here</a>.</p>

<p>Huawei will unveil the latest smartphone, the Huawei Mate S at IFA 2015 today, we have gotten some exclusive pictures of the real phone, and can&#8217;t wait to share them with you.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/827d0de5db77c1e.jpeg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-57899" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/827d0de5db77c1e.jpeg?x10805" alt="huawei mate s" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/827d0de5db77c1e.jpeg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/827d0de5db77c1e-300x200.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Huawei Mate S has similar appearance with Mate 7, but it built-in a 5.5 inch full HD 2.5D screen, integrated all-metal body with metal texture, the new material make the feeling excellent. As former report, the new phone powered Hisilicon kirin 935 processor, 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM, and support external microSD card up to 128GB. The Mate S use a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera, and a rear fingerprint scanner under the rear camera like the Mate 7. But the slim body only build 2700mAh battery. Huawei Mate S support dual Nano SIM card at same time, and expedited Cat.6 class LTE network.</p>

But sine the past couple of weeks, leaks about the Mate S have been pouring in like crazy. There have been multiple picture leaks and even GIC certification which confirmed the name a few days back. Now, the retailer<a href="http://www.oppomart.com/" target="_blank"> OPPOMART</a> has listed Huawei Mate S on its website revealing most of the specs of the device along with the pricing.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57242" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing.png?x10805" alt="huawei mate s OPPOMART listing" width="887" height="474" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing.png 887w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing-300x160.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing-786x420.png 786w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing-640x342.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-OPPOMART-listing-681x364.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 887px) 100vw, 887px" /></a></p>
<p>Huawei Mate S will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch full HD 1080p Force Touch Screen. It will really be an interesting feature as this tech allows users to define multiple gestures based on the force of touch on the screen. It opens up a lot of new possibilities which we would like to see explored on the Mate S. Huawei&#8217;s CEO Richard Yu has already hinted that the new flagship will have a powerful touch screen. So, its no surprise that OPPOMART lists Force Touch as one of its features.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57240" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1.png?x10805" alt="huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1" width="498" height="498" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1.png 498w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_1_1_1-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px" /></a></p>
<p>Other specs include Kirin 935 octa-core processor, the same one that powers the Huawei P8 flagship, along with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM and a rear placed 360 degrees fingerprint sensor. Huawei Ascent Mate 7 had one of the best fingerprint sensors of its time and we hope to see an improved version of the same on the Mate S. At the back, there&#8217;s a 20MP camera while up front, 8MP shooter. The listing also adds that the phone will support FDD-LTE networks and will come with a large 4100mAh battery. Remember <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/11/zuk-z1-is-official-with-a-beautiful-body-4100mah-battery-zui/">ZUK Z1</a>? Even it had such a large battery!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57241" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1.png?x10805" alt="huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1" width="498" height="498" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1.png 498w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-ascend-mate7_2_1_1-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px" /></a></p>
<p>Overall, the specs look decent for a flagship. Of course, Kirin 935 isn&#8217;t considered as a top-end chip but its powerful enough to carry out your everyday tasks. As for the pricing, OPPOMART has listed the device for $599. This could be a slightly increased price tag, so expect the official price tag to be around $550-570.</p>
<p>So, what do you think about the Mate S? Would you be willing to pay $550 for a Huawei flagship with these specs?</p>

However, later the company released a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/11/huawei-almost-confirms-mate-7s-as-its-next-flagship/">new teaser which showed the letter &#8216;S&#8217;</a>. Given that the recent leaked images of the flagship was almost similar to the Mate 7, we believed that the next Huawei flagship was going to be called as the Mate 7S. However, earlier today, we spotted the <strong>Huawei Mate S</strong> on a certification website, which means the name is almost official.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-56506" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s.png?x10805" alt="huawei mate s" width="880" height="891" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s.png 880w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-296x300.png 296w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-415x420.png 415w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-640x648.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate-s-681x690.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px" /></a></p>
<p>GCF (Global Certification Forum) recently certified a device with the marketing name as the Huawei Mate S. This kind of fixes the confusion that was associated with this device. So, we will most likely see the new Mate S handset at IFA Berlin this year.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-b.jpg?x10805'><img width="480" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-b.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-b.jpg 480w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-b-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-b-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-z.jpg?x10805'><img width="480" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-z.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-z.jpg 480w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-z-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15023400-z-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" /></a>

<p>We have already seen that the phone will look almost the same as last year&#8217;s Huawei Mate 7. The all metal body, camera and fingerprint sensor placement are all in line with the previous generation model. However, when it comes to specs, the Huawei Mate S is expected to feature the Kirin 935 chipset that powers the Huawei P8 flagship. Further, the phone is rumored to come with 3GB RAM, 5.7-inch full HD 1080p display,20MP rear camera sensor, and Android 5.0.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate7s-antutu-leak-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-56325" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/huawei-mate7s-antutu-leak-01.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei-mate7s-antutu-leak-01" width="600" height="950" /></a></p>
<p>One of the highlights of the device is going to be the touchscreen. Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei had earlier said that the new flagship Mate S was going to come with a unique touchscreen. Later we saw a couple of posters highlighting the words, &#8220;The power of touch&#8221;. From all these hints, it looks like the Mate S will feature a <strong>Force Touch display</strong>. We already know that the Axon Mini will come with this screen, but it look like the Mate S will probably release first in the market.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/power-of-touch-mate-7s.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-56025" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/power-of-touch-mate-7s.jpg?x10805" alt="power of touch mate 7s" width="440" height="587" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/power-of-touch-mate-7s.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/power-of-touch-mate-7s-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/power-of-touch-mate-7s-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>Anyways, stay tuned for more information.</p>
