<p>Now, ahead of the launch, a render of the upcoming tablet has leaked online, revealing that the device will come with ultra-narrow bezels. But do keep in mind that the authenticity of the leak has not been confirmed.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-392292 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000.png?x10805" alt="Huawei MatePad Pro 2 Kirin 9000 SoC" width="1192" height="324" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000.png 1192w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000-300x82.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000-768x209.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000-1024x278.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000-696x189.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-MatePad-Pro-2-Kirin-9000-1068x290.png 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1192px) 100vw, 1192px" /></p>
<p>Another report coming from China claims that the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 comes in two variants based on the processor &#8212; <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000">HiSilicon Kirin 9000</a> and HiSilicon Kirin 9000E. The former will be Wi-Fi only version while the latter will support 5G connectivity.</p>
<p>Previous reports indicate that the device will be available in two sizes – 12.2-inch or 12.6-inch. For those unaware, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-matepad-pro/">Huawei MatePad Pro</a> sports a smaller 10.8-inch screen. Unfortunately, there&#8217;s not much data available about the type of display but its predecessor has an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/LCD/">LCD</a> panel and therefore, the new model could also feature the same but with a higher refresh rate, which the older tablet lacks. Also, there&#8217;s a possibility of an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OLED/">OLED</a> display either.</p>
<p>Along with the MatePad Pro 2, the Chinese tech giant is also set to launch a few more devices, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/27/huawei-watch-3-harmonyos/">Huawei Watch 3</a> which will also come running the latest HarmonyOS.</p>

Instead, the company is now focusing on expanding its product lineup in other categories to reestablish itself.</p>
<p>Recently, it was revealed through a Chinese leaker (<a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/546/167.htm">via <em>ITHome</em></a>) that Huawei is expected to launch a few products in May this year, including new semi in-ear earphones named FreeBuds 4, a new computing device, and a new children&#8217;s watch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-279813 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/huawei-logo-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The company is also slated to launch the Huawei <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p50">P50 series</a> of flagship smartphones as well as the Huawei MatePad Pro 2. But it is rumored that the launch of these two products has been postponed and now they will be unveiled in June this year.</p>
<p>However, it is being said that both the devices won&#8217;t get launched at the same time. Huawei will first launch the P50 series of flagship smartphones and then the MatePad Pro 2 will be launched, which is expected to go on sale in September. Both of them will come running the company&#8217;s own HarmonyOS aka <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/hongmeng-os">HongMong OS</a>.</p>
<p>On the contrary, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/15/huawei-launch-tablet-same-day-apple-april-20-event/">another report claims</a> that the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 could get launched on April 20th later this month. This is the same day when Apple has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/14/apple-spring-loaded-event-20-april/">scheduled its launch event</a> where the new iPad Pro models are expected to debut.</p>
<p>The company&#8217;s expansion isn&#8217;t limited to hardware. Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei&#8217;s Consumer Business Software Department and Director of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ai">AI</a> Department had revealed that the HarmonyOS will be available to the public in June and will also start rolling out the software to several smartphones. The company is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/14/huawei-harmonyos-300-million-devices-this-year/">aiming to have 300 million devices</a> running the new HarmonyOS.</p>
<p>As for the launch in May, it is said that the FreeBuds 4 will be offered in three color options &#8212; White, Silver, and Red. In the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pc">PC</a> department, the company is expected to launch transformative PC products. To know what exactly is up the company&#8217;s sleeves, we will have to wait for the launch event next month.</p>

<p>According to a <a href="https://www.notebookcheck.net/Huawei-s-next-tablet-event-clashes-with-Apple-s-April-20-2021-show.532561.0.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>NotebookCheck</em> </a>report, the Cupertino based giant recently revealed the date when it will announce new products soon. In this event, it is expected that the company will offer a first look at the 2021 iPad models. But it seems that Huawei is also looking to launch its own new tablet on the same date as well. This clash in dates might be on purpose, with the Chinese tech giant being confident about its upcoming tablet.</p>
<p>The new tab from Huawei is likely the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-matepad-pro-2-features/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MatePad Pro 2</a>, which has recently been rumored to arrive with a<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Kirin 9000 processor</a>. This tablet would also sport a large 12.2 inch OLED display from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung</a> along with support for 5G networking as well. Notably, the MatePad Pro 2 could possibly launch with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">HarmonyOS</a> out of the box. For those unaware, this is a proprietary operating system developed by the Chinese consumer electronics maker.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-384030 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei" width="1820" height="1213" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021.jpg 1820w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Apple-Spring-Loaded-2021-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1820px) 100vw, 1820px" /></p>
<p>This software might be exclusive to the Chinese market. Unfortunately, finer details regarding the MatePad Pro 2 is currently unknown. Furthermore, we would have to wait for the April 20 event to know more regarding both launch conferences. So stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the events and offer updates when additional updates are available regarding the new launches.</p>

Popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station tells that the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 2 will be the first device to launch with HarmonyOS out of the box.</span></p>

<p>Now, a <a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/K19JGEdIO">new report</a> revealed that the upcoming tablet from the company dubbed Huawei MatePad Pro 2, which carries the codename &#8220;Wanger&#8221; has passed through the 3C certification process in China.</p>
<figure id="attachment_309941" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-309941" style="width: 825px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-309941 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4.png?x10805" alt="Huawei MatePad Pro 5G" width="825" height="579" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4.png 825w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4-300x211.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4-768x539.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4-696x488.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/huawei-matepad-pro-pix-4-598x420.png 598w" sizes="(max-width: 825px) 100vw, 825px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-309941" class="wp-caption-text">Huawei MatePad Pro 5G</figcaption></figure>
<p>The device will be made available in two variants &#8212; one with a 12.2-inch screen supplied by Huaxiing and another with a 12.6-inch display panel provided by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a>. Both of them are said to have support for a higher refresh rate.</p>
<p>It is also said to be powered by the Huawei HiSilicon <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000">Kirin 9000 chipset</a>, the latest flagship chipset from the Chinese giant. This could also be the last one from the company, at least for the time being till the restrictions imposed by the United States are lifted.</p>
<p>The name of the device itself indicates that the tablet is the successor of the Huawei MatePad Pro 5G <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/24/huawei-matepad-pro-5g-with-kirin-990-launched-for-the-global-market/">which was first introduced</a> in the European market in February last year and was later made available in China.</p>
<p>As for the other devices that have passed through this certification process, the 4G smartphone is believed to be a part of the Huawei Enjoy lineup and could come with support for 22.5W fast charging.</p>
<p>There are two <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> smartphones, which are expected to be a part of the Huawei <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-mate-40">Mate 40 lineup</a> and could expand the portfolio of the Mate 40 series. We will have to wait for more information to determine if these claims are true or not.</p>
