Now, a new report by IDC takes us back to last year to tell us how tablet devices sold in the country.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359036" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured.jpg?x10805" alt="Lenovo Tab M8 2nd Generation Featured" width="1060" height="596" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured.jpg 1060w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Lenovo-Tab-M8-2nd-Generation-Featured-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1060px) 100vw, 1060px" /></p>
<p>According to the <a href="https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prAP47491521">report</a>, the heart of the tablet device demands was around $100-200 which is a no-brainer. 2020 was an unusual year in the last decade as people were forced to study and work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This meant the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/24/tablets-screen-size-market-share/">demand for tablets started rising</a> rapidly.</p>
<p>As a result Tablet vendors got the most of 2020 when it comes to shipments. Especially, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo">Lenovo</a>, whose tablets are very popular, registered a whopping 153% YoY growth despite facing a 15.1% decline in the commercial segment. It is the market leader with a 39% market share in India.</p>
<p>Anyway, the report says that a total of 2.8 million units of tablet devices shipped in India last year. This translates to a 14.7% YoY growth and it is the first positive growth in the last 4 years. Out of this, consumer shipments account for 59.8% YoY growth over 2019 whereas commercial shipments plummeted by 14.3%.</p>

<p>The Chinese giant Lenovo is followed by companies like Samsung, Apple, iBall, Huawei, and others. <a href="http://wwww.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> went a step above Lenovo and saw a 157% YoY growth. The company brought promising tablets like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/02/samsung-galaxy-tab-a7-and-wireless-charging-trio-officially-announced/">Galaxy Tab A7 2020</a> to help boost sales.</p>
<p>Despite struggling with stocks initially, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> managed to jump back to 3rd in the tablet segment in India. Its growth reached 13% YoY while companies like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iBall">iBall</a> faced a 69.4% decline in shipments.</p>
<p>Last but not the least, seeing <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> on the list is a bit of a surprise considering the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-us-ban">tussle with the US</a> it&#8217;s been facing. The report says that Huawei saw a Tri-fold growth in the tablet segment in 2020 in India. Attractive price points and online Ads helped the company pull this kind of numbers.</p>

<p dir="ltr" id="docs-internal-guid-4974ecd9-d002-4160-2043-7b47ad076c42">India’s Mobile Manufacturers are offering their smartphones against the stiff competition by the Chinese Manufacturers. Will the Indian smartphones will give the chinese vendors decent competition?  Recently, Wickedleak presented very affordable octa-core smartphone, the Wammy Neo Youth, only at INR 8,500 or US$ 140. iBall also launched their phone, the octa-core iBall Andi 5K Panther.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The iBall’s smartphone, Andi 5K Panther, sports 5-inch 960&#215;540 pixel HD display. The phone runs on octa-core 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592. It is same as in the Xiaomi Redmi lower version. Detailed specs of Andi 5K Panther are as follow:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3 dir="ltr">Specifications</h3>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">5-inch 960 x 540p display</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">1.4GHz octa-core CPU</p>

<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">1GB RAM</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">8GB on-board ROM</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">8 mega-pixel rear camera</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">2 mega-pixel front camera</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">1900mAh battery</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">Android v4.4 KitKat</p>
</li>
<li dir="ltr">
<p dir="ltr">Dual SIM</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">iBall’s Andi 5K Panther is available at just INR 10,500, which seeing the specs seems a very good deal. The specs of Andi 5K Panther seem very similar to Lenovo&#8217;s Golden Warrior A8, the only difference is that the Panther doesn&#8217;t come with LTE.</p>
