However, the remote that ships with the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-p1-series-launch-price-specs-features/">Mi TV P1 series</a> announced today is entirely different.</p>
<p>The new Bluetooth Mi TV remote is not only longer than any of the other <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/mi-tv">Mi TV</a> remotes <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> has released in the past but also has more buttons.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-388123" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi TV P1 55'' Remote" width="1381" height="793" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote.jpg 1381w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote-300x172.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote-768x441.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote-1024x588.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote-696x400.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote-1068x613.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mi-TV-P1-55-Remote-731x420.jpg 731w" sizes="(max-width: 1381px) 100vw, 1381px" /></p>
<p>As seen in the image above, the remote now has a number pad that occupies the upper part of the remote. There are also buttons for Teletext, Info, Channel List, Input, and Set.</p>
<p>Like some other Xiaomi Mi TV remotes, this one also has a power button, a Google Assistant button, a circular navigation pad, dedicated buttons for Netflix and Prime Video, and buttons for volume control, return/back, and home. There is also an Exit button, another for mute, buttons to switch between channels, and the common Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue buttons that are present on several TV remotes.</p>
<p>if you are wondering why Xiaomi has added these buttons, we believe it is because the Mi TV P1 has a CI slot for a Condition Access Module (CAM) for satellite television and also has support for DVB-T2/C and DVB-S2. If you use any of these and not just Android TV, then these additional buttons are necessary to have on a TV remote.</p>
