QD-OLED panels are capable of delivering true black levels by switching off individual pixels. However, reflections from ambient light can reduce perceived contrast in real-world conditions. QuantumBlack aims to address this limitation by lowering light reflectance by 20 percent compared to Samsung Display’s previous film. This reduction is expected to improve visibility in darker scenes, particularly in environments with strong lighting.

The change has direct implications for gaming monitors, where contrast and shadow detail are critical. Lower reflections can help maintain clearer separation between objects and backgrounds, which may improve visibility in darker areas of games such as first-person shooters and survival titles.

Alongside optical improvements, Samsung Display says the new film also increases panel durability. Internal testing indicates that surface hardness has been raised from 2H to 3H. A higher hardness rating generally means better resistance to scratches from routine use, including cleaning or incidental contact.

The introduction of QuantumBlack comes as display manufacturers continue to focus on refining QD-OLED technology beyond core image quality. Xiaomi has quietly brought its updated budget monitor, the Monitor A24i 2026, to more regions, including parts of Europe and Southeast Asia. It’s not a major overhaul, but the changes this time feel a bit more noticeable than usual, especially for a screen in this price range.

The basics remain the same. It’s still a 23.8-inch IPS panel with a Full HD resolution, which is what you’d expect here. But Xiaomi has bumped the refresh rate up to 144Hz from 100Hz. That doesn’t sound dramatic on paper, but in use, it usually makes things feel a little smoother, whether it’s just scrolling through pages or playing games.

The contrast ratio is now rated at 1,500:1, and Xiaomi says the panel is factory calibrated with Delta E below 1. In theory, that should mean more accurate colors right out of the box. Brightness has gone up slightly too, now at 300 nits. It’s not a huge jump, but it should help a bit if you’re using it in a well-lit room.

Other parts of the monitor haven’t really changed. The design is still slim, with fairly thin bezels, and it keeps wide viewing angles typical of IPS panels. Pricing is where it gets interesting. Depending on the country, it’s selling for roughly $90 to $125. That’s still very much in budget territory, especially for a 144Hz display.

Overall, it feels like a small but sensible update. Nothing flashy, but a few tweaks that actually matter if you’re just looking for a reliable, affordable monitor.

It also includes the H7 AI image processing chip, which handles image adjustments such as contrast and sharpness in real time. Hisense also introduced the GX Ultra alongside the UX. This model uses a 5K mini-LED panel and comes with the same 2,304 local dimming zones. It supports a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and includes the same Obsidian screen coating. One of its main features is the ability to switch between two display modes. Users can run it at 5K resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate, or switch to QHD resolution at 330 Hz for higher frame rates. If you’ve been looking at the Apple Studio Display but hesitating on the price, these might be worth a closer look.

The headline feature here is what BenQ calls Nano Gloss coating. Instead of going fully matte, which can mute contrast, or fully reflective, which can be distracting, the company is trying to strike a middle ground. The idea is to preserve the punch and clarity of a glossy screen while softening glare just enough for everyday use.

Both monitors use IPS panels and cover nearly the full P3 color space: 99% on the 27-inch model and 98% on the 32-inch.

The MA270S is probably the more direct competitor to Apple’s own display. It’s a 27-inch 5K panel (5120 x 2880), which works out to around 218 pixels per inch, essentially the same pixel density as Apple’s 27-inch Retina displays. That means proper macOS scaling, crisp text, and no awkward resolution compromises. For designers, photographers, or anyone who spends all day staring at small UI elements, that matters.

The MA320UG, on the other hand, takes a slightly different route. It’s larger at 32 inches and sticks to 4K resolution, but adds a 120Hz refresh rate. That won’t turn it into a gaming monitor, but animations and scrolling do feel noticeably smoother at higher refresh rates.

Both models include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, with up to 96W power delivery, plus additional USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI ports. There’s also KVM support for switching between systems. Small touches like brightness and volume control directly through macOS keyboards help the experience feel more native.

The stands are fully adjustable, with height, tilt, pivot, and swivel support. Nothing flashy there, just practical ergonomics.

Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, though the monitors are already listed on BenQ’s European website. If the company keeps them below Apple’s pricing, they could appeal to users who want sharpness or a glossy panel without committing to Apple’s ecosystem pricing.

Color coverage is also familiar: 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3, with 8-bit color depth. TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue light support and DC dimming are included for more comfortable long sessions. So far, very similar to the previous model.

What’s actually improved

The 2026 model now offers ΔE <1 factory calibration, which is a notable upgrade. For photo editing, design work, or content creation, tighter color accuracy out of the box is a welcome improvement.

Contrast has also been bumped to 1,300:1, which should translate to slightly deeper blacks and better separation in darker scenes. It’s not a dramatic shift, but it’s measurable.

The panel now runs at 120Hz, up from 100Hz on the previous version. It will make scrolling, UI animations, and light gaming feel smoother.

Pricing and availability

The MA270UP supports a peak brightness of 450 nits, while the MA320UP goes higher at 600 nits, making it better suited for brighter rooms.

ViewSonic has unveiled two new interactive display series at Bett 2026, introducing what it claims are the first Android 16-powered interactive flat panels built for education. The new ViewBoard IFP35-1 and IFP41-1 series are aimed at K–12 and higher education classrooms, focusing on fast response, reliable daily use, and tighter software integration.

Both series are EDLA-certified and run Android 16 on an eight-core processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users get access to Google Play apps, and the displays can also be used as standard monitors with computers, game consoles, DVD or Blu-ray players, and other media sources. Screen sizes range from 55 inches to 98 inches, all offering a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, a 5000:1 contrast ratio, 6.5 ms response time, and 300 nits brightness.

Touch input is a key highlight. When using Android 16 or connecting to a Windows PC, the displays support up to 64 simultaneous touch points, along with palm rejection for more accurate writing and annotation. Built-in ambient light sensors automatically adjust screen brightness, while PIR motion sensors help save energy by powering the display on when a classroom is in use and turning it off when empty.

The ViewBoard IFP35-1 is the standard model and comes with dual 20W speakers. The ViewBoard IFP41-1 is designed for more interactive and discussion-based learning. It adds a 15W subwoofer and eight built-in microphones to support clearer audio and voice capture. It also supports instant Write Away annotation for real-time collaboration during lessons.

Both series include ViewSonic’s myViewBoard digital whiteboarding software, which supports collaborative learning, real-time participation, and accessibility tools. ViewSonic also demonstrated its wider education ecosystem at Bett 2026, combining myViewBoard with AirSync for wireless casting and Manager for centralized IT management.
