Lenovo has introduced a new budget gaming monitor in China, the Legion 27-1r. It is priced at 789 yuan (roughly $116) and features a native 280Hz refresh rate aimed at gamers seeking high-refresh-rate performance at an affordable price.

The monitor uses a 27-inch IPS panel with a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution. The panel features a native 280Hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms MPRT response time, with adjustable GTG settings from 1ms to 4ms. It also supports VESA AdaptiveSync and Nvidia G-Sync to reduce screen tearing and deliver smoother gameplay.
For color and brightness, the IPS panel covers 99% of the sRGB color space and reaches a typical brightness of 400 nits. It supports 8-bit color depth, though it uses a 6-bit + FRC (Frame Rate Control) method to display 16.7 million colors. Lenovo also included hardware-level low-blue-light technology with EyeSafe 2.0 certification, designed to reduce blue light without adding a yellow tint to the screen.
The port selection dictates how the monitor performs. It has one DisplayPort 1.4 input and two HDMI 2.1 TMDS inputs, along with a 3.5mm audio jack. To use the full 280Hz refresh rate, the PC must be connected via DisplayPort. The HDMI ports are capped at a 240Hz refresh rate.
Lenovo equips the Legion 27-1r with a fully adjustable stand that supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, while a 100 x 100mm VESA mount allows compatibility with third-party monitor arms and wall mounts.
